    Job Summary
    We are seeking a self-motivated and results-driven General Manager to join our Charlotte team. In this position you will oversee all staff, budgets and operations. You will also plan and coordinate all events at the Charlotte location including festivals, can and bottle releases, tap takeovers, virtual events, private events and other smaller events. You will support the Marketing Department with coordination of releases, promotional content, web based customer service and coordination of other promotional needs based in the Charlotte Area. Your entrepreneurial spirit and vision in directing business functions will assist Burial in generating new community interest, improving staff productivity and service, ensuring sustainability, and meeting business objectives. To be successful in this role, you should be a thoughtful leader and a confident decision maker while also being a brand ambassador out in the community and create connections with Burial and members of our industry in the greater community. Ultimately, you will help Burial grow and thrive in this new location.


    Job Responsibilities:

    I. Event Organization and Coordination
    • Work with production on the bottle and can releases to access the SOP for the release
    • Work with the Front of House to ensure event information is communicated and events are staffed
    • Work with Director of Brand to produce marketing assets for events
    • Assist in pulling permits if needed
    • Conceptualize new events at the Charlotte location
    • Execute the logistics related to events at the Charlotte location
    • Work on decor for events if needed
    • Keep event items organized and labeled
    • Be present and run point at all events (must be okay working nights and weekends) which might include assisting with bartending and selling of beer
    • Ensure we have all support materials designed and set up for the event
    • Oversee the delegation, description and execution/training of positions to people
    • Oversee private events at the Charlotte Taproom
    • Oversee the planning and marketing of virtual events geared toward companies in the Charlotte Area
    • Brainstorming and implementing event plans and concepts.
    • Handling budgeting and invoicing
    • Liaising and negotiating with vendors
    • Negotiating sponsorship deals
    • Handling logistics
    • Updating senior management
    • Managing branding and communication
    • Developing event feedback surveys
    • Handling post-event reports
    • Oversee photography needs for social media

    II. Provide support to the Market Manager on Planning and Coordination off site events
    • Provide support to Sales team to deliver Burial content off-site
    • Work with Sales team to provide consulting on events off-site
    • Be willing to travel to events to pour, network and run point (not all the time, but when necessary)

    III. Provide support to the Director of Marketing on Web based content and communications and other marketing programming
    • Coordination of web based content- providing updates on Charlotte portion of the websites. Working with third party vendors if needed to coordinate website updates
    • Check various reviews sites weekly for Charlotte based content: Facebook, Trip Advisor, Yelp for reviews- please document reviews and send to Taproom Managers and Service Managers
    • Check various reviews sites daily for Raleigh based content: Facebook, Trip Advisor, Yelp for customer comments and questions
    • Coordinate photo shoots - coordinate date, content, props, people
    • Provide support in media relations and press content needs
    • Coordination of social media schedule

    IV. Provide Support to Taproom Manager
    • Work with outside vendors with items in the shop to ensure cross promotion as well as internal promotion of their items.
    • Work with Taproom Manager on inventory of outside vendor items in the shop
    • Connect with potential new outside vendors who would be a good fit to rotate into the inventory of the bottle shop
    • Oversee the aesthetics of the Charlotte location, ensuring the vibe and the overall look and feel is on brand- attention to detail is key here!
    • Responsible for inventory / store management until a Taproom Manager is hired

    V. Management and oversight
    • Overseeing FOH staff to ensure the Burial brand is being held to high standards through customer service and aesthetics.
    • Execute the vision of the brand
    • Provide feedback and review content for FOH performances to leadership
    • Oversee the recruitment process and employee dismissals when necessary
    • Ensure employees work productively and develop professionally in line with the Burial’s Core Values, Vision and Mission
    • Oversee day-to-day operations
    • Research and identify growth opportunities
    • Collaborate with the Director of Retail to set policies and processes
    • Maintain budgets and optimize expenses
    • Prepare regular reports for Leadership
    • Provide solutions to issues (e.g. profit decline, employee conflicts)

    VI. Project Management
    • Assist the Director of Facilities in overseeing the Charlotte location construction prior to opening

    Qualifications / Specifications:

    Degree in Public Relations, Communications, Hospitality and/or Business is preferred

    Proven experience as a General Manager or similar executive role

    Brewery experience is a plus

    Experience in planning and budgeting

    Strong analytical ability

    Communication and marketing skills

    Project management experience

    Problem-solving aptitude

    Good leadership skills

    Highly Organized

    Multi-tasker

    Good time management

    Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator is a plus

    Proficiency in various event software

    Photography skills are a plus

    Expert interpersonal skills

    Risk management experience

    Must be 21+
