    Job Title: General Manager (GM)
    Hours: Full Time (40+ hours/week)

    Gilded Skull Brewing and Blending is seeking a motivated and versatile General Manager (GM). The ideal candidate will be someone who can plan, direct and oversee all bar operations including managing staff, ensuring product and service standards are met and implementing and maintaining procedures for maximum operating efficiency.

    Essential Functions:
    ● Set objectives and targets for the taproom.
    ● Determine staff needs and recruit staff.
    ● Manage staff
    • Direct and manage staff members to meet standards and objectives within company policies.
    • Maintain regular communication with staff and management through meetings and discussions.
    • Delegate duties and tasks to staff to meet objectives and maximize resources.
    • Organize and adjust staff rotations and schedules in accordance with available resources and labor regulation.
    • Assess development needs, train and coach staff
    ● Oversee the preparation and presentation of beverages to meet set standards.
    ● Resolve customer complaints promptly.
    ● Stay current with relevant legislation regarding service of alcohol, sale of tobacco and licensing
    ● Aid with federal, state and town compliance and reporting.
    ● Promote and practice compliance with fire, health, safety and hygiene standards and regulations
    ● Oversee accurate cash-up procedures and ensure necessary paperwork is in complete adherence to cash management procedures.
    ● Generate and present financial reports.
    ● Help to set, monitor and control the budget for the taproom with planning and implementing cost control measurements.
    ● Plan and implement systems to maximize sales and revenue.
    ● Ensure adherence to stock control procedures by monitoring and ordering supplies.
    ● Liaise with suppliers and sales representatives.
    ● Confirm that procurement of supplies is on the best possible terms.
    ● Make certain all deliveries are checked in correctly and documentation is correct.
    ● Oversee the bar display to maximize functionality and attractiveness.
    ● Help to organize promotional activities and events.
    ● Help design and Implement improvements for products and service.

    Work Environment:
    This position operates in a brewery / taproom environment. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. The employee may be exposed to hazards including, but are not limited to, slipping, tripping, and falls. Frequent hand washing is required due to staff interactions and preparation of beverages. Job responsibilities may include working outdoors in Spring - Fall, when the outdoor beer garden area is activated.

    Physical Demands:
    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate effectively. This position’s activities are often carried out using a computer and being on the taproom floor. Frequent smartphone use is also required for timely execution of position responsibilities.

    Required Education and Experience:
    ● Experience in the management of a brewery/taproom operation
    ● Complete working knowledge of craft beer and craft beer service
    ● Valid TAPS card
    ● Server level Cicerone and/or BJCP certification or pursuit is strongly encouraged


    Preferred Education and Experience:
    ● Knowledge of business management principles and practices.
    ● Knowledge of basic accounting procedures.
    ● Knowledge of cost control procedures.
    ● Knowledge of human resource management practices.
    ● Knowledge of administrative procedures.
    ● Knowledge of relevant computer applications.
    ● Knowledge of federal, state and town compliance and reporting

    Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
    ● Previous management experience in the field.

Based solely on the strength of our contract brands, we were named one of the 10 best new breweries in the country in 2020 by Hop Culture Magazine, as well as one of the 20 best new breweries in the country in 2021 by USA Today’s 10Best. We are currently in the process of capitalizing on that recognition by opening a ~5,000 square foot brewery/taproom in Hudson, MA. We intend to continue focusing on soft, flavorful New England IPA, big stouts, well-crafted lager and mixed culture saison.
    Compensation:
    Gilded Skull Brewing and Blending offers competitive wages, and is willing to offer profit sharing and equity, based on previous work experience.
