    Hackensack Brewing Company (78 Johnson Avenue Hackensack, NJ) is hiring a Taproom Manager. This is a full-time salaried position (plus tips) with health benefits in a rapidly growing microbrewery. Compensation can range from $45,000 - $65,000, based on experience. The Taproom Manager will supervise all areas of our taproom as well as some of our off-site events (farmer’s markets, festivals, etc). The chosen applicant will be a member of the brewery’s leadership team and will work closely with our GM to design the operating standards and objectives required to support our merchandise sales, event space utilization, and the bar in our Taproom. This will entail hiring, training, developing team members to fill a variety of roles in the taproom and private event areas of operation

    Success in this position will be founded in personal attention to the customer experience when visiting Hackensack Brewing Co. and proven by exceeding sales goals each period. Brewery Guests should be educated on craft beer, our brewing process, nearby amenities to our location and the growth of our brand. Candidate must be a self-motivated individual, who settles for nothing less than the best and executes on a high level while being capable of collaborating with multiple teams and successfully multi-tasking.

    The Taproom Manager will also supervise staff working in the tap room, manage and coordinate inventory with our GM, execute a variety of events throughout the year. A particular focus will be on rotating inventory correctly and on completing a thorough month end inventory while also driving retail sales in excess of targets.
    The ideal candidate loves craft beer, is extremely organized and detail oriented, and is responsible as well as hard working. Position will be full time with required hours on nights and weekends. TRM hours of work are expected to be 40 hours per week with additional setup and close down activities required for activities occurring in the event space and off-site beer festivals.

    ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    -Hiring, training and managing taproom staff
    -A strong desire to collaboratively lead the direction of the taproom experience while staying up to date on Market and Industry trends and opportunities.
    -Maintain a clean, friendly and welcoming environment for all guests at all times.
    -Communicating beer and merchandise needs for inventory
    -Completing weekly and monthly inventory tasks for production team
    -Conducting fun and energetic tours of the brewery
    -Managing coordination for all special events hosted in the taproom while keeping a calendar of booked events and upcoming Hackensack Brewing Co.
    -Creation and execution of a written Taproom Operations Manual.
    -Daily Quality Control metrics to ensure optimal customer experience for all HBC brewery guests
    -Assist in the development and maintenance of a lead beer server training program
    -Lead all Day One on-boarding and training for new taproom hires
    -Engaging customers, making sales, and answering questions
    -Proactive management of taproom improvements and actively engaged around the development plans for the taproom expansion
    -Ability to move kegs, clean draft lines and operate a hand truck
    -Other duties as assigned

    DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    -Previous brewery or craft beer experience preferred
    -Taproom management experience is preferred
    -Retail experience required- both back and front of house experience
    -Cicerone certification preferred
    -Forklift experience preferred

    KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

    -Knowledge of and interest in the craft beer industry
    -Proven success in a retail/restaurant environment
    -Ability to interact professionally and effectively with employees and the general public.
    -Experience in a fast-paced work environment and the ability to multitask.
    -The ability to think on your feet and adapt, flexibility is key.
    -Strict attention to detail.
    -Computer literacy- plus excel, word, google drive, etc.
    -Events planning and coordination experience
    -Time management and schedule management
