    Fire Maker Brewing Company is a start-up production brewery in West Midtown, Atlanta, Georgia. The Fire in Fire Maker represents the burning passion and ambition we all have in us, that desire to accomplish our goals and dreams.     A strong team, like a great beer, is the sum of its parts. Our next necessary ingredient is an Assistant Taproom Manager.
    Our Taproom is the face of our company. We have approximately 2,000 sq ft of beautifully decorated Taproom space, including a temperature-controlled patio and small event space, Beer Garden & Beer Hall for smaller events. In Production, we work to fill our 30 taps by brewing on a 20 bbl system for year-round and seasonal beers and a 2.5 bbl pilot system to keep fresh flavors flowing. We’ll be open to the public Tuesday-Sunday each week, but are looking to expand to 7 days a week.
    Who are the people behind Fire Maker? Our CEO/Owner has spent his whole career in the alcohol industry on both the distribution and craft beer segments of the industry. Our Head Brewer brings over a decade of professional brewing experience and a degree from Siebel to the company. Our wildly talented marketing team creates beautiful photos and entertaining videos for the social media world.
    Position Summary:
    The Assistant Taproom Manager works in partnership with the Taproom Manager and senior management to maintain the company’s vision and culture in the Taproom. The Assistant Taproom Manager will serve as right-hand person and leader to the bartending staff, setting the standard for customer service at Fire Maker. They must also assist in the day to day operations of the taproom bar, public/private events as well as some administrative duties that will be delegated from the Taproom Manager. This position is meant to further cultivate the taproom community with both customers & taproom staff, continue to grow sales and create a great atmosphere.
    Essential Functions:
    • Supports Fire Maker’s Core Values and Focus
    • Ensure all safety protocols are observed in the taproom; train, reinforce and improve a safety culture and attitude in taproom operations
    • Working with the taproom manager on hiring, development and training, schedules, discipline, accountability, and education of taproom staff
    • Front of house work and customer service (regular bar shifts)
    • Effectively communicate between taproom staff and taproom manager, both written and verbally
    • Responsible for taproom cleanliness & organization of back office, break areas, and customer areas.
    • The direct supervisor of bartending staff and serve as exemplar of Fire Maker customer service
    • Conduct regular service training in conjunction with feedback from Secret Hopper reports.
    • Work with the Head Brewer & Taproom Manager to provide staff with regular beer education and sensory training
    • Develop a weekly/monthly task list for bartending staff to accomplish during shifts
    • Resolve customer complaints about beer quality or service
    • Maintain a thorough understanding of all Fire Maker products
    • Take initiative to continually improve the Taproom experience for customers
    • Work shifts and support staff behind the bar
    • Update Taproom menu as needed
    • Maintain the Arryvd register and Taproom signage at a high level
    • Assist in ordering items for the taproom & grocery store/Restaurant Depot runs for supplies
    • Ability to assist and work in other departments in the company and perform other tasks as needed by the company
    • Comply with all safe chemical handling procedures including personal protection equipment such as gloves and goggles
    • Hold all crew members accountable to operating within brewery procedures
    • Ensure compliance with all Alcohol and Tobacco, Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) standards and required documentation
    • Develop, compile and present reports to supervisors/ownership.
    • Knowledgeable and complies with DOL, DOH, OSHA, TTB, and additional state, city, and federal Consumer Protections regulations
    • Monitor and report daily cash flows
    • Positively Represent and promote Fire Maker and its image at industry technical events, conferences, and marketing events.
    • Ability to travel occasionally for the day (or overnight) by land, sea, or air.
    Food Trucks & Pop-ups (When our food partner is not present/during events):
    • Typically we partner with Scoville Hot Chicken, so fostering that relationship and increasing our taproom sales by encouraging patrons to purchase meals.
    • Ensure that our food partners are respecting our space and doing a thorough job of cleaning up after themselves
    Taproom Improvements:
    • Work with taproom manager to continue improvement of experience through Taproom enhancements (e.g., private event space build-out, repairs, upgrades, seasonal decorations)

    Taproom Marketing & Events Management:
    • Develop events and promotions that will bring in new customers and increase Taproom visitors
    • Develop and maintain Taproom marketing materials (beer board, menus, etc.), and ensure bartenders are aware of all current promotions and events
    Stock Control & Taproom Organization/Maintenance:
    • Monitor inventory and order all necessary Taproom supplies, merchandise, beer, and non-alcoholic food/beverage in a timely manner while tracking sales/losses
    • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the bar, restrooms, and merchandise areas
    • Supervise quarterly deep cleans of the taproom
    • Train bartending staff to ensure all team members operate at the same high level
    • Work with Beerista and Food Liaison to keep track of food related inventory items.
    Other Tasks:
    • Serve as a brand ambassador for Fire Maker both in the taproom and in the community
    Required Qualifications:
    • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
    • Passionate about craft beer and cultivating an inclusive taproom experience
    • Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent relevant job experience
    • A minimum 3 years practical, professional taproom or restaurant experience
    • Previous experience in a management or lead role at a brewery or other restaurant/bar
    • Valid driver’s license & reliable transportation with appropriate documents
    • All skills and experience as outlined above
    • Ability to work flexible schedule as determined by needs of the operation
    • Ability to handle fast-paced, high-pressure situations
    • Ability to sit, stand and/or walk for long periods of time
    • Ability to bend, kneel, reach, twist, and stoop
    • Ability to lift, push, and pull 50 pounds without assistance
    • Ability to push, pull, move full kegs (approximately 160 pounds) with assistance
    • Following of all company health and safety standards to include proper use of personal protective equipment and compliance with all OSHA and CDC guidelines
    • Ability to work flexible days and hours
    • Clear understanding that this is an in-person job, and is not now nor will be in the future a work from home position.
    • Ability to help and work in other areas of the company and perform other tasks as directed by the company
    • Ability to be resourceful and problem solving
    • Ability to become a Cicerone Certified Beer Server within one month of hire
    • Ability to become TIPS Certified within one week of hire
    • 21+ years of age

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
    Some flexibility in hours is allowed, however employees are expected to be available during the “core” taproom hours. Flexibility is required as job duties demand. This position will require some holidays and late nights as well as early mornings. Must have full availability Wednesday through Sunday.
    Travel
    Must be open and able to travel by all methods. This position requires occasional travel to breweries and other taproom locations. Occasional travel outside the local area and overnight stays may be required.
