An exciting new venture from the owners of Sierra Nevada Brewing Co., Can Do Innovation Center is leading the charge in craft beverage innovation. Can Do is a blending and packaging company housed in an 80,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art new facility adjacent to Sierra Nevada Brewing Co.’s Chico, CA campus. The center will offer B2B solutions for Sierra Nevada and many other craft beverage partners in both the alcoholic and non-alcoholic sectors. Backed by a world-class commitment to quality and 40+ years of brewing and operational expertise, Can Do partners with like-minded craft companies to bring new ideas to life. The Operations Manager is responsible for directing and coordinating the daily operations of the Can Do Innovation plant. This includes a hand-on approach in developing efficient strategies to ensure the plant meets safety, quality, cost, and production goals / metrics, and standards, at minimal manufacturing costs. This role will help develop and lead the tactical and strategic set up for the Can Do Innovation business.

What You Will Do
- Directs all aspects of the business operations; including purchasing, scheduling, manufacturing, warehousing, shipping/receiving, quality assurance, and customer service
- Lead all operational aspects including; operations & production, quality, plant production development, health & safety, finance and compliance. Optimally make sure that manufacturing units improve on the standard efficiencies in terms of Machine efficiencies, material yields, labor and overhead costs versus budget.
- Enforces company policies; including safety, production, quality, sales, human resources, customer service, and accounting policies. Ensures that quality standards are understood and meet acceptable limits in the manufacturing and distribution process. Assures that policies and documentation are current and facility is compliant with customer audit requirements.
- Monitors the facility's equipment needs and ensures that the technical team is working to keep the company's equipment and physical facility are properly maintained. Understands the technical aspects of the facility's manufacturing processes so as to provide support and departmental personnel.
- Provides information to various corporate personnel in a timely manner, including daily/weekly/monthly reporting requirements and other ad hoc information requests
- Implements, drives and sustains key initiatives that support plant strategic goals
- Oversees the hiring and training of facility personnel. Partners with Human Resources to seek out ways to motivate and develop employees. Coach and develop staff to build high performing teams. Assigns stretch assignments to further train and enhance staff development.
- Promotes cross training to optimize workforce, ensures functional coverage, reduce labor costs, and supports succession planning
- Manage and maintain labor and operating costs in accordance with budgets and strategic goals
- Oversees all employment management, while being a champion for safety at the facility
- Prepare an annual manufacturing plan and policy guidelines to drive the performance of key result areas on production activities and continuous implementation monitoring
- Implement a Plant Performance Tracking System which includes the key performance indicators covering manufacturing, engineering, quality assurance, manpower levels, and finance
- Frequently researches cost savings opportunities, leading and monitoring all progress in capturing savings opportunities
Please Apply if You Have
- Bachelor's Degree in Industrial or Chemical Engineering, other Engineering or Business OR any combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills, abilities have been achieved required
- 5 years Progressive manufacturing experience required
- 5 years increasing management responsibility in a manufacturing environment required
- 5 years Relevant experience in beverage and/or food manufacturing preferred
- Strong operational experience with the ability to establish and measure KPI's
- Proven analytical, evaluative and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail
- Proven financial acumen
- Experience in managing continuous improvement projects
- Strong interpersonal skills, and excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
- Posses working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing techniques including: Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, Kanban, Visual Management and JIT Lean manufacturing
- Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Office
- APICS, CQE, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement credentials preferred
