General Manager: Bay Shore

Job Overview


The General Manager is responsible for managing the taproom customer experience for Destination Unknown Beer Company’s Bay Shore, New York location in alignment with DUBCO’s mission, vision and values. This role will be responsible for directly managing a team of taproom employees and working closely with other functions of the business including Operations, Production, and Sales. This position will coordinate events and releases with DUBCO Acres taproom in Warwick, alongside the maintenance of our current taproom in Bay Shore, NY. This position reports directly to ownership.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Manages the overall operations of DUBCO Bay Shore in conjunction with DUBCO Warwick
  • Conducts interviews, oversees hiring, training, and appropriate staff scheduling
  • Supervises all front of house employees either directly or indirectly with discretion to set up a taproom leadership structure
  • Direct all taproom cleaning, maintenance and necessary improvements
  • Analyzes sales and profitability to determine successes and opportunities for growth
  • Oversees public and private events from lead-up through execution
  • Assists in managing the brewery merchandise program, including online sales
  • Focus on marketing and increasing tap room sales
  • Oversees taproom inventory management and control
  • Works with Tap Room and production heads to ensure collaborative flow of brewery & taproom operations and release schedule
  • Work in collaboration with ownership to execute short and long term strategic business plans.
  • Follow up and report on a strategic business plan.
  • Responsibility in management of bookkeeping in conjunction with Accounting and Data Entry Specialist.
  • Work alongside the accounting officers to ensure all paperwork is submitted in a timely manner
  • Work on continuing education with Tasting Room Staff in collaboration with the Tasting Room Manager
  • Manage off site event and festival planning, including staffing, creating the menu, tasting notes and gathering of materials
  • Participate in monthly Production Meetings, Marketing and Events Meetings, Sales Meetings, Accounting and Budget meetings
  • Develop and maintain marketing strategies
  • Update the website and create marketing material as needed
  • Maintain online inquiries through the website in collaboration with the Tasting Room Manager
  • Participate in weekly payroll and cash and check weekly deposits
  • Act as a liaison to ownership reporting on Day to Day operations of the DUBCO Bay Shore location.

Required Experience and Abilities:
  • 4+ years of management experience in the craft beer, restaurant, or service industry (or similar industry experience)
  • Experience in the craft beer industry a plus
  • Fundamental knowledge of beer styles, serving, and draft equipment
  • Knowledge and experience with restaurant/brewery POS system
  • Experience with Quickbooks, Google Drive, Encompass and Ekos a plus
  • Excellent, unwavering customer-service skills
  • Ability to effectively manage and inspire people

Salary & Benefits:
  • $65,000 - $75,000 (Adjusted based on education, experience and performance)
