Allagash Brewing Company in Portland, Maine is hiring an experienced Maintenance Manager to join our dynamic and progressive engineering team. This position requires 7+ years of people leadership in a technical field, and a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in Engineering (Industrial, Electrical, or Mechanical) or Construction Management is preferred. The Maintenance Manager works with internal and external customers to maintain and improve the equipment related to beer production, packaging, quality, and logistics. Other essential functions include: setting direction, goals, and operating procedures for the Maintenance team; evaluating, training, and developing Maintenance department personnel; oversight and management of departmental budget; establishing and maintaining standard operating procedures for all maintenance related activities; and ensuring optimal performance and strategic upgrades of the brewery’s major assets.

This is a salaried, full-time position and the schedule is Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pm. This position requires a willingness to work flexible hours as needed and to put in extended hours, in response to brewery needs. This job can be very physical in nature and will require working over, under, and around potentially dangerous moving machinery in tight spaces. Must be comfortable working at heights while standing on a ladder or in a basket. Employees are exposed to high levels of noise requiring the use of hearing protection, and close, color, and distance vision are required to fulfill this job.
