Overall Job Purpose:
Lost Rhino, an established, award-winning craft brewery and tasting room has an exciting opportunity for a motivated, experienced leader to join business and be responsible for taking business forward, growing sales and profitability. The President & General Manager will report to Ownership and work with the Founder, who is currently leading sales & marketing, to drive sales growth, while overseeing all other areas of the business, including brewery production and operations, finance & accounting, and tasting room operations. The President & General Manager will be responsible for growing the team while ensuring the strong team culture develops and flourishes
Primary Responsibilities:
The President & General Manager provides hands-on leadership and management across all aspects of the sales, operations and manufacturing functions, including, but not limited to
- Planning, forecasting, budgeting, sourcing, producing, and shipping goods
- Ensuring operations run efficiently, leading all aspects of operations, technology and systems implementation, and evaluating current processes to maximize efficiency and continual improvements to the cost, safety, and environmental management of operations
- Collaborating with accounting team to develop and manage budgets for assigned departments including cost of goods sold, pricing, operating expenditures and capital
- Monitoring cost variances and report them to Ownership in a timely manner
- Managing major projects to improve operations from beginning to end, including facility maintenance, repair, construction and growth
- Collaborating with the sales and marketing teams to maintain relationships with wholesalers and to promote Lost Rhino as a preeminent brewing facility and seek contract-brewing agreements with local and regional breweries
- Exploring and expanding programming at brewery to increase and grow retail sales and exposure to local and tourism markets
- Reporting progress against strategic goals and objectives through a balanced and effective performance metrics framework
- 10+ years of progressive experience managing a growing business
- 5+ years in food & beverage sales and marketing management; experience with distributor preferred
- Strong financial acumen including budget management, expense control, forecasting and analysis of financial statements
- Proven, results oriented project manager
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and people management skills including coaching, motivating, delegating, scheduling and relationship-building
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks and balance multiple projects
- Understanding laws governing alcohol production, sales and distribution
