    Position Summary:
    The Sr. Manager’s primary responsibilities are to lead and manage all Distillation activities and staffs in the Stranahan’s Colorado Whiskey distillery. This includes safety, quality, production, capacity planning, scheduling activities, barrel and materials inventory management, OpEx budgeting and spend, CapEx support, equipment reliability, and facilities management. Ensures all operational and production functions are consistently performed through use of established procedures. A large part of this role involves leadership of employees, outside resources, and ensuring the workforce performs in cost-effective, and timely manner. Creates a culture that delivers resilient operations, effective employees, and ensures results are delivered at all levels. Inspires and motivates all employees to perform at their best.
    Primary Responsibilities:
    • Manages safety programs, promotes a safe work place environment, and leads a culture where safety comes first.
    • Demonstrates technical leadership providing hands on support and assistance to all levels of staffs.
    • Ability to adapt to change, promote an agile workforce that can respond to evolving production demands.
    • Responsible for consistent distillery operations in the Grains handling, mashing, fermenting, and distillation areas.
    • Manages both on-site/off-site warehouse operations, security, and inventory control activities.
    • Manages all utilities systems to ensure reliable, interruption free, operations.
    • Responsible for all facility areas to ensure an effective work environment and the best presentation at all times.
    • Manages all critical control points and targets, identifies KPI’s for all processes.
    • Tracks/analyzes KPI’s to identify deviations, implement improvement strategies, show performance improvement.
    • Creates the annual OpEx budgets and manages the spend to the general ledger account level.
    • Manages all distillery staffs; hiring, mentoring, coaching, training, scheduling, separations, addressing performance.
    • Manages the personal development activities and performance review process for all distillery staffs.
    • Supports and guides all employees in consistent QC practices and identification of QA initiatives.
    • Oversees reactive and preventive maintenance for all process equipment to ensure consistent/reliable operations.
    • Promotes the use of SOP’s in all distillation areas and ensures all staffs follow them.
    • Ensures all employees provide accurate, detailed, documentation across all production reporting processes.
    • Responsible for the oversight of all raw material inventories and supports corporate procurement team processes.
    • Ensures the highest level of facility sanitation, inside and out, and promotes GMP’s and 5S protocols.
    • Supports capital projects and process improvement goals to progress business objectives.
    • Communicates all safety issues, process deviations, losses, unplanned outages, and unexpected discharges, to the Distillery Director along with corrective actions to prevent re-occurrence.
    • Conducts monthly staff meetings and quarterly business updates with all distillery staffs.
    Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline is required.
    • MBA, is preferred to emphasize the caliber of candidate sought.
    • 10 plus years minimum combined leadership experience supervising and managing in a production / manufacturing environment.
    • Demonstrated OpEx budget management $5M+ annually. Capital project management support experience.
    • Strong leadership abilities; demonstrated proficiency in effectively leading, mentoring and motivating individuals.
    • Committed to a leadership role in a manufacturing profession, puts in the necessary work to lead a successful operation that frequently delivers results.
    • Committed to develop themselves into higher roles and greater responsibilities within the company.
    • Must have the ability to provide detailed explanations of work activities and other important distillery activities.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills, strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
    • Experience supervising and managing in a union environment preferred.
    • Advanced Excel skills are very important, proficiency in PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
    • Knowledge of SAP a plus.
    • Knowledge of OSHA regulations, TTB regulations, Public Health & Environmental rules and regulations.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
    This position requires above average verbal and written communication skills, math and science skills. Candidate must have a thorough knowledge of mashing, fermenting or distillation process operations, have solid organization skills and be detail oriented. Must be completely familiar with appropriate safety procedures such as hot work permitting, confined space entry and hazard communications requirements. Must demonstrate initiative, have a strong mechanical background, be goal and objective oriented, and be able to work cohesively as a team. Must be able to work effectively with all levels of personnel.
    TYPICAL WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
    This position works in multiple environments: office, warehouse, production, indoor/outdoor, etc.
    Working off shifts or weekends to engage with staffs or support operational issues may at times be required.
    Noise, dust, variable temperature, hot surfaces, production chemicals are also typical in this work environment.
