    Objective

    This position is responsible for ensuring process and product consistency as well as beer production goals.


    Essential Responsibilities
    • Contributes to our continued growth and expansion initiatives.
    • Oversees all brewery operations: brewery, cellar, packaging and quality control.
    • Oversees staffing decisions, performance management, training, safety and quality of the brewery operation. Ensures team members have the right tools, knowledge and equipment required to do their jobs safely and effectively.
    • Guarantees a safe working environment for employees by maintaining the facility and equipment in an optimal working environment and enforces adherence to safe work practices.
    • Oversees Oskar Blue’s Quality program and practices with regards to beer production. Ensures compliance standards are consistently met or exceeded.
    • Ensures production goals are met while working closely with site leadership. Collaborates on all production activities and create schedules to meet sales forecasts and demands.
    • Monitors and continuously improves brewing operations with regards to safety, quality, efficiency, cost optimization and profitability.
    • Develops and implements long & short-term planning goals and corrective action plans. Translates the overall business strategy into operational goals and objectives for the brewery.
    • Standardizes procedures and protocols and ensures they are being adhered to.
    • Researches and implements industry trends and compliance initiatives to evolve the brewery operations standards.
    • Oversees the design, operation and improvement of systems that produce Oskar Blue’s Brewery & CANarchy family products. Assesses equipment purchases and major expenditures to maximize benefit.
    • Works with Finance to review appropriate financial statements, sales and activity reports and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement. Identifies and rectifies areas for cost reduction and program improvement.
    • Be a champion for CANarchy in the brewing community.

    • Performs other related duties as required or assigned.


    Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
    • Proven knowledge of the craft beer and brewing industry.
    • Excellent leadership skills with the proven ability to lead and motivate a team and maintain a positive workplace culture. Ability to develop and manage productive relationships with staff members.
    • A strong understanding of process controls.
    • An understanding of Laboratory Operations / Quality Control procedures.
    • Extensive knowledge of industry compliance standards: including but not limited to OSHA and safety standards, Government regulatory programs, like HACCP, GMP, and production management systems.
    • Professional communication skills both verbal and written.
    • Strong planning and organizational skills. A strong work ethic and the ability to multi-task, prioritize and adapt to changing situations.
    • Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel spreadsheets.
    • Ability to identify product deficiencies (color, smell, taste).
    • Knowledge of brewing, cellar, packaging, quality, utilities, maintenance, and safety operations.
    • Knowledge of raw materials, market, and contracting pricing.
    • Skill in critical thinking, problem solving, and adaptability.
    • Skill in effective communication.
    • Skill in responsible decision making.
    • Ability to demonstrate reliability.


    Physical & Mental Requirements

    Must have the physical and mental strength and endurance to be able to perform duties, in at times extreme environments, as well as the ability to handle stressors of the position in operational and administrative situations. Required to frequently lift and move 30-165 pounds. Expected to stand, sit, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, bend, talk, hear, taste, smell, see, and operate objects, tools, and controls.

    Pay Type: Salary, $78,603 - Depending On Experience

    Supervisor: Vice President, Facilities & OBB Operations

    Minimum Education: Bachelor’s in Chemistry and/or Biology, Business, Management, Operations Research, Engineering or Food Science is preferred. MBA is a plus. A formal brewing education is a plus.

    Minimum Experience: Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in a production environment.

    Age Requirement: 21 Years or Older

    Required Travel: Yes

    Driving Requirements: Up to 10%

    Tools & Equipment Used: Standard Office Equipment, Brewery Equipment, Forklift
