    The Palm Springs area is known for its outdoor pursuits – hiking, biking, golfing and just general enjoyment of the great outdoors. The area has become a popular destination for tourists and snow birds, while also attracting significant numbers of new residents leaving the big city for a better quality of life. Established in 2013, La Quinta Brewing Co. (“LQBC”) is a rapidly growing 4,500 bbl/yr production brewery (with a current capacity at 12,000+ bbls/yr) in the Palm Springs (Southern California) area. We recently moved into our newly constructed 14,000 sf brewery/taproom which includes a full restaurant. Currently, we brew on a 15bbl Premier Stainless brewhouse with over 550 bbls of fermenting vessels. We’ve managed to acquire over 200 accounts in the desert with additional accounts outside of the Coachella Valley and have 2 satellite taprooms in addition to the brewery taproom.

    Position

    LQBC is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Director of Operations that will guide us through the next phase of our growth in the craft beverage industry, leading all functions and processes from grain to glass for our award-winning beer! This position directs and leads the operations leadership team and is responsible for ensuring the safe, consistent, high quality and efficient operations of the business. This senior leadership role is responsible for developing and communicating the brewery's operational strategy and holds our team accountable for achieving those results. The position will report directly to the owners and will oversee all operations including the on-site tap room and (2) satellite taprooms.

    Responsibilities
    • Execute LQBC’s objectives and visions to coordinate all aspects of operations and people management.
    • Collaborate with the brewery partners to meet operational and financial goals – setting sales and production targets, short term and long-term strategic planning, analyzing efficiencies and profitability.
    • Oversight of all brewery operations: production, sales, taproom(s) and events – onsite and offsite, and all social media platforms.
    • Management of all category managers – production, sales, taproom(s), events and marketing.
    • Oversee the hiring and training of new employees.
    • Oversight of production (brewing) operations. Analyzing associated costs and profitability across contract packing facilities.
    • Oversee and enforce company policies; including safety, production, quality, sales, human resources and customer service, in partnership with division heads.
    • Frequent reporting to partners.

    Desired Qualifications and Abilities
    • Bachelor’s Degree in a business related field, or a combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills, abilities, have been achieved.
    • Required 3 - 5 years of brewery management/operational experience, or 7 – 10 years of general management experience.
    • Knowledge of brewing process and/or 3 – 5 years of direct brewing experience.
    • Proficient knowledge of basic accounting principles.
    • Working knowledge of Ekos and QuickBooks or other similar accounting and brewery platforms.

    Compensation
    • Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
    • Benefits package.
    • 2 weeks annual vacation.
    • Annual discretionary bonus based on meeting specific key performance indicators.
