    Accounting and Business Assistant

    Reports to: SGBC Controller

    Sleeping Giant Brewing Company has an immediate opening for a full-time Accounting and Business Assistant. SGBC is a contract independent craft brewer in our 5th year of continued growth and we are looking for highly energetic, positive team players who thrive on opportunities to improve. This particular position is primarily a high-level Full Charge Bookkeeper or Staff Accountant role combined with light business support of other functional areas including human resources, supply chain, logistics, and quality.
    Responsibilities include data input, transactional processing, analytical tasks, and systems maintenance, which may include but not limited to the following:
    • Vendor invoice input and payment processing (AP)
    • Client invoice processing and cash receipts posting (AR)
    • Tracking past due AR and assisting in collection process
    • Bank and credit card account reconciliations
    • General ledger maintenance and reconciliations
    • Supply chain and logistics support with shipment processing and coordination
    • Assisting in procuring supplies and materials
    • Other administrative duties supporting company management

    Qualifications: Minimum qualifications are an Associate’s degree with proven stable work experience with similar accounting responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have a BS degree in Accounting or Finance and at least two years work experience in an accounting role with hands on experience with ERP systems in AP/AR and demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products (especially Excel). Candidate must be able to work effectively in a role with minimal supervision in a start-up type culture with a desire to go outside the primary duties of the role and help wherever possible in the operation.

    Compensation: This position is an hourly position. Compensation will be commensurate with qualifications and includes:
