Fish Brewing Company is under new ownership and is growing! We have a new role for General Manager to partner with owners and company leaders in generating growth plan strategies and owning the management and achievement of company goals for the on-site 20,000+ BBL craft beer and cider brewery and brew pub located in downtown Olympia, Wa.

Success Metrics and Measures:
  • Fish Tale Brew Pub: Superior customer experience driven by quality and consistency, and addition of engaging events at Fish Brew Pub to achieve targets for sales, profitability, loyalty, and engagement.
  • Brewery: Ensure consistent top quality, scale top sellers, guide and support relevant innovation, and maximize brewery output to achieve sales and profitability targets.
  • Integrate Fish Brewery and Brew Pub teams to best serve Fish Brewing customers through their individual roles.
  • Sales: Drive product placement and ongoing product positioning in key retailers, bars, and restaurants that allow Fish customers to find Fish product whenever, wherever, and however they want locally.
  • Marketing: Drive awareness and engagement with Fish brands and products to attract and retain loyal customers, and grow customer base.
  • Operations: Manage and prioritize costs effectively to maximize profitability.

Position overview and key responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily business operations for Brewery and Brew Pub.
  • Develop and execute business strategies for Brewery and Brew Pub that support company goals.
  • Create and manage budgets that support company goals.
  • Hire, train, and provide ongoing leadership, management, and development for a staff of more than 45 employees.
  • Use data and reporting to inform modeling and forecasting of business performance to drive sales gains and aggressively manage risk.
  • Build and maintain excellent relationships within the business, the vendor base, and the community.

Integration within Fish Brewing Company:
  • Reports to business owners
  • Oversees leaders in Brewery, Pub, Sales, Marketing, and Operations.

Functional Responsibilities
  • Ensure consistently top quality, relevant product creation by coordinating with Brewing production staff, Operations, Sales, Marketing and Key distributors and vendors to employ customer feedback, market trends, and brand framework to beer and cider creation process.
  • Optimize brewing schedules that achieve goals and avoid over or understocked product by coordinating with Brewing staff, Pub leaders, Operations, Sales, Marketing, and Key distributors and vendors.
  • Oversee Brewery maintenance and operations to be compliant, clean, and safe including required government reporting of production, effluent, organics certification, labeling, and taxation.
  • Lead or coordinate major improvement and maintenance projects.
  • Assure needed state and interstate licenses are obtained and maintained.

Brew Pub:
  • Align Pub employees around consistently delivering an excellent customer experience at all touchpoints in the customer journey including events and digital.
  • Oversee food, beer, wine and liquor menu, inventory and costs to optimally support sales, informed by reporting, seasonality, and customer feedback.
  • Maintain all licenses to be compliant.
  • Maintain excellent pub cleanliness through daily best practices.
  • Coordinate with Brewery, Sales, Marketing, to host relevant events that drive brand awareness and long-term customer loyalty.

Technical ability:
  • Microsoft office suite
  • O-beer brewery management software, Micros POS experience preferred.
  • Ability to create business cases for financial decision making and interpret reporting.
  • Ability to learn relevant technology when needed.
