    Position Summary:
    Almanac Beer Co is seeking a passionate & beer-savvy individual to join our team as Director of Sales and Distribution.

    This role entails the overall strategic and operational management of selling Almanac products. This role primarily includes the management of all wholesale partners and sales staff, inventory management, the creation of short and long terms sales projections and meeting sales goals. Other key duties include providing market and partner feedback on product mix; collaborating on strategic brand development and managing support staff. Must love sour & barrel aged beer.


    Develop and manage an annual sales budget to meet or exceed company goals
    Develop a long-range plan to grow sales
    Work with Marketing to develop promotional programs that grow sales
    Develop national accounts capability
    Hire and mentor a highly capable sales team that is highly effective at leveraging our distribution network
    Establish and manage our distributor network to grow sales, including but not limited to the following activities: product training, pricing, promotional programs, account calls, volume and pricing targets.
    Evaluate the effectiveness of sales, tactics, costs, and results.
    Frequent travel to all markets where Company products are sold


    Minimum Bachelor’s degree
    3+ years of sales experience in beverage alcohol (either spirits, wine, craft beer) and across the three tiers (manufacturing, distribution, retail) with a strong grasp of non-sales functions.
    3+ years sales management experience and proven success in leading and mentoring sales teams
    Can develop and execute an annual sales plan and budget with detailed sales metrics, velocity objectives, scheduling and planning timelines with rigorous follow-through
    Ability to forecast sales and expenses.
    Deep experience working with distributors including successfully motivating distributor sales reps, developing promotion and pricing plans, and working with distributor senior management on a national scale.
    Experience in launching new brands/products in the marketplace with demonstrable successes.
    Existing relationships with Key Accounts in all major markets
    Strong event planning capability
    Self-starter, strong work ethic and organizational skills
    Strong written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills in all mediums, across a range of audiences at varying levels of expertise and understanding
    Ability to motivate staff and customers
    Ability to keep senior management well informed with summary updates
    Good computer skills, ability to create presentations and spreadsheets (Excel, Powerpoint, Word)
    Strong communication ethic in getting back to customers, suppliers and internal company personnel.
    A proven track record of winning new business and sales results.
    Strong complex-problem solving, negotiation, and financial management skills
    Willingness to work a flexible schedule to include, occasional weekend and/or evening work, as well as travel.
    Must be able to travel 30% of the time.


    A working knowledge of beverage industry legal compliance.
    Knowledge of beer production processes as well as the history and variations of beer styles.
    Prior supplier brand management experience on a national/international level
    Experience in emerging brands and start-up companies where you had to develop and build organizational processes where none existed.
