    Position: New York and New Jersey Sales and Marketing Support
    Type: Part Time (20-30 hours per week)

    Shmaltz Brewing Company is looking for a motivated, reliable and outgoing beer enthusiast to help grow business through account check-ins, in-store demos, bar promos, beer festivals and events in the New York City (mostly Manhattan and Brooklyn) and New Jersey markets. Our chosen candidate will be responsible for promoting SBC products, while developing and maintaining strong retail, wholesaler and customer relationships. This position is part time with possible opportunities to go full time down the road.

    Conceived in San Francisco in 1996, then contract-brewed in New York for over a decade, Shmaltz recently opened our new production facility in Clifton Park, NY – just north of Albany – where we now brew 100% of our award-winning He’brew Beer brand.

    Most tastings will take place in afternoons and evenings on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, so willingness to work nights and weekends is mandatory. Account visits may happen during daytime hours. Flexibility and organizational skills are crucial. Much of the NYC work can be done via public transportation, but for the New Jersey hours, a car and a clean driving record is also essential.

    Description of Duties:
    • Schedule and execute (3) to (4) store samplings and bar promotions per week (approx. 2-3 hours each) through in-person visits and phone calls, with occasional opportunities to represent the company at festivals and trade shows
    • Visit local accounts for customer service calls to maintain and increase awareness and sales
    • Report weekly to Shmaltz’s National Sales Manager and local wholesaler
    • For each event, you will complete a Sampling Event Form, which will be signed off by the store/bar manager
    • Keep track of and submit monthly expenses
    • Coordinate promotion with SBC’s Marketing Director


    Qualifications:
    • Must be 21+ years old
    • Valid Driver’s License, good driving record and a reliable automobile
    • Willingness to work flexible hours (including nights and weekends)
    • Ability to stay organized and self motivated
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Must love craft beer


    Compensation:
    • Competitive hourly wage, based on experience. This is a part-time 1099 position to start with possibility of growing into more as the sales and successes increase.
    • Flat fee per tasting, which includes time spent scheduling/coordinating.
    • Reimbursement for tasting related expenses (ie: cups, point of sale, etc.)
