True Respite Brewing Company in Rockville, MD, (D.C. metro area) is seeking a Sales Representative to join our growing team.
Who we are:
True Respite Brewing Company is a production microbrewery and tap room in the heart of the Washington D.C. Metro Area. In fact, we sit right between the Rockville and Shady Grove stops on the D.C. Metro Red Line. We opened 3.5 years ago as a tiny draft-only operation brewing on a 3.5 BBL brewhouse and have expanded to become a 2,200 BBL/year packaging and distributing brewery brewing on a 3V, 15 BBL production brewhouse. We own and operate our own Alpha 4-head canning line.
We have two distinct brands under our umbrella: True Respite Brewing Co. and Bright Spot Beer Co. Between those two brands, we brew, package, and distribute five core SKUs. However, we’ve made our name brewing, packaging, and distributing a wide assortment of specialty one-off batches. Our constant innovation and our appetite to brew both trendy and classic styles (including a killer lager series) is a tough model to replicate with consistently high quality. It is one of our greatest competitive advantages.
We distribute throughout Maryland, D.C., and Delaware with regular shipments for a national consumer audience via Tavour and occasional direct retailer shipments in Arizona (with more states opening soon.) We have experienced near-constant volume growth since opening. We are currently distributing throughout Maryland, Delaware, and Washington D.C.
Our ownership team also includes all three Co-Founders of biermi.com, a craft beer sales and home delivery website adopted by over 200 breweries and craft beverage producers across 36 states around the country. It was developed and given for free to our peers in craft beverage manufacturing at the onset of the pandemic with the singular goal of saving as many fellow craft makers as we could in a time of crisis. We always try our best to be great neighbors and we are seeking an individual with a similar community-minded philosophy.
Who we are looking for:
We are seeking a motivated, goal-oriented individual who is passionate about beer, who loves people, and who is excited to take on a critical role within the business. This individual should thrive in a fast-paced role where intrinsic motivation is key and the ability to communicate effectively is essential. This role interfaces with the production team, the distro team, the quality team, and the ownership team to ensure that customers' needs are met on-time, as expected, with quality always at top of mind. Previous beer sales experience is preferred, although we will consider someone new to the role with the right personality traits. We're seeking someone who can knowledgeably discuss a diverse array of styles, who loves working both with others and alone, and whose approach to problem solving is to find the best solution--regardless of who may have suggested it.
We have worked hard to build a highly team-oriented environment and the communal culture of this brewery is strong. Especially for this role, working well with others is a necessity. We are proud to be a close-knit group of teammates and look forward to welcoming a new member to the crew.
Day-to-day, this role will be heavily focused on learning and understanding new releases and their position within our portfolio, developing relationships with buyers at retail customers across the territory (both on-premise and off-premise), regularly visiting and suggesting best-fit products for buyers, entering sales orders, scheduling deliveries with the distro team, solving customer service concerns, and relaying any quality concerns that may arise to the management and production teams.
Be aware: this position will regularly include completing tasks like running in-store tastings, attending off-site events (like beer dinners), and more. The hours are mostly regular but there will routinely be events that fall outside of normal working hours.
Ultimately, this person is responsible for selling and representing the brand, our mantra, and our products with integrity and drive.
