Sockeye Brewing is an Idaho legacy brewery, entering our 26th year in business. The Director of Sales is responsible for leading and managing the retail sales team for Sockeye Brewing. This position is directly responsible for all off-premise sales, overseeing the on-premise sales representatives and manager, active communication with all distribution partners and overall sales objectives to assist Sockeye Brewing in meeting growth and sales goals.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Distributor Management – Working with all distribution partners on sales execution, forecasting new brands and seasonal styles, inventory management, off-premise key account management. Serve as primary point of contact with all distribution partners senior management.
  • Off-Premises Sales – Managing all aspects of off premises sales with key retail accounts in conjunction with distribution partners. Includes communication with key buyers, presenting brands for set approval, consistent communication to ensure successful execution of brand representation.
  • Sales Team Leadership – Manage and oversee sales team representatives that are responsible for on-premises sales. Includes setting targets for sales, performance management, sales and promotion execution and budget reviews.
  • Sales Targets – Work directly with management to create monthly and annual sales targets. Lead sales team in strategies to meet and exceed sales targets.
  • Budget Targets - Set and review monthly budgets with sales team. Review and oversee budgets with sales team to ensure effectiveness of spending on promotions.
  • Sales Promotions – Lead and work with sales team to participate in retailer and industry events, including chain calls, sales promos and brewery events
  • Communication – Consistent communication with Management, Distribution Partners and sales team representatives.
  • Weekly Company Meetings – Prepare monthly and year to date sales recap for review with full brewery team, review and recap promotions and upcoming events. Review inventory status and upcoming product launch with full brewery team.
Job Requirements
  • Minimum 5-years experience as a distributor sales representative of brewery representative
  • In-depth knowledge of Craft Beer market and Key Chain account management
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to self-start, multi-task and complete tasks independently with minimal amount of direction
  • Ability to effectively utilize business information reporting tools, including VIP and Karma
  • Ability to develop and coach individuals resulting in higher levels of performance
  • Computer skills, effective ability to use Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of Distributor workings in detail
  • Strong financial acumen and experience managing sales forecasting and budgeting
  • Must be based in -or willing to relocate- to the Boise Area
  • Available for evening & weekend promotions/festivals/events
  • Some overnight travel will be required
  • Valid Drivers License and excellent driving record
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
