Barrier Brewing Co is seeking to hire a dedicated & passionate NYC Sales Manager / Brewery Representative. Ideal candidates will have familiarity with Barrier’s product line and have previous experience in beer sales in NYC. Join our team and help grow our brand in all 5 boroughs of NYC!!

Barrier was founded in 2009 and is currently brewing at a capacity of 8,000bbl/yr. We have a great team, a vibrant & energetic taproom and distribute beer into 15 states and 10+ countries. All beer is produced in house under one roof in Oceanside, NY, located 15miles out of NYC.

This position will play a key role in the success of Barrier Brewing Co within the NYC territory. Responsible for maintaining, developing & seeking relationships with both On and Off premise accounts & our distributor personnel.


- Primary goal is growing all sales within NYC territory

- Perform daily calls to existing accounts focusing on growth.

- Target new accounts

- Become an asset to our Distributor Sales Representatives. Drive/prioritize our brands within their portfolio & account calls.

- Develop and maintain relationships with key personnel at accounts & distributor

- Setup events, promotions, sponsorship, charity, collaboration opportunities.

- Must have constant and open communication with Sales Director, Brand/Marketing Director, Owner

- Actively work toward achieving quarterly goals and objectives.

- Ability to use industry data tools to analyze and develop weekly and monthly sales strategies.

- Monitor product freshness at Distributor and in the trade.

- Must have familiarity with NYC territory and ability to adjust schedule to maximize efforts & efficiency.

- Set up and participate in various account promotions, marketing, distributor ride withs, staff/account training, and other industry events.

- Perform administrative tasks.(ie., expense reports, weekly calls, calendar updates, sales analysis, meeting minutes)

- Must be able to work in a team environment as well as independently

- May include travel to other territories

Essential Skills and Abilities

- Must be competitive, brand loyal, and comfortable making existing and cold calls.

- This position is not 9-5pm. Must be flexible and willing to work nights and weekends.

- Preferably 2 years of experience working in beer sales (ideally within NYC) with Wholesalers and/or Suppliers.

- Proficiency with VIP, Karma and Microsoft Office

- Strong public speaking, written, and analytical skills.

- 80% of work is in the field. With overnight travel expected.

- 20% of work is Administrative.
