As the Brewery and Distillery Sales Manager, you will be responsible for managing your own territory while overseeing and supporting sales teams in other territories. You will play a crucial role in driving sales growth and building strong distributor relationships to maximize our market presence. This position requires a proactive and strategic approach to sales management, exceptional leadership skills, and a passion for our craft beverages.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to achieve revenue targets for your assigned territory and ensure alignment with overall company objectives
- Lead, motivate, and mentor a team of sales professionals in other territories, providing guidance, support, and training to maximize their performance
- Collaborate with marketing and product development teams to identify market trends, customer preferences, and opportunities for new product launches
- Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors, ensuring effective communication, negotiation of contracts, and execution of sales and marketing programs
- Monitor and analyze sales data, market trends, and competitor activities to identify opportunities for business growth and adapt strategies as needed
- Conduct regular sales meetings, performance reviews, and provide ongoing coaching to sales team members to drive continuous improvement
- Collaborate with the operations team to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment and inventory management
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and promotional activities to enhance brand awareness and generate leads
- Stay updated on industry regulations, market dynamics, and emerging trends in the craft beverage industry
- Maintain calendar of activities and promotions ensuring distributor and third-party agencies have successful communications
Qualifications:
- Proven track record of successful sales management; ideally in the brewery and distillery industry, including experience in managing territory sales and distributor relationships
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a sales team to achieve and exceed targets
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with distributors, customers, and internal stakeholders
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret sales data and market trends to drive decision-making and strategy
- Able to handle complexity and change on-the-go
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive and results-driven approach to sales
- Knowledge of craft beverages, including beer and spirits, and a passion for the industry
- Ability to travel frequently and desire to attend industry events as required
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
Education Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Minimum of five (5) years of work-related experience in the alcohol beverage industry
Special Working Conditions
- Frequent travel
- Travel will include overnight travel
- Have access to a reliable car that is registered and insured
- Must have a valid, unrestricted driver’s license
- Must be able to drive to and from accounts continuously
- Ability to work nights/weekends
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to crouch reach and grasp
- Must have residence in Tallahassee
