    ummary: Maintain and execute all functions according to policy and procedure, safety requirements, and best practice. Tasks include but are not limited to all aspects of raw materials handling, milling of grain, wort production, fermentation monitoring, yeast handling and pitching, clarification, transfers, finished beer monitoring, equipment CIP, laboratory duties, packaging, and general sanitation. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: (Additional duties may be assigned)OperationsEvaluation of raw materials, some of which are grown by the breweryBe able to evaluate and adjust for variations in raw materials to produce consistent batchesof beerCell counts and yeast viability analysisYeast propagation, collection, and managementBio reactor operationEstablish and maintain good communication between departments within the breweryFermentation monitoringEnsure operations comply with Company Quality, Sanitation and Safety standards and healthand sanitation regulationsPlating and testing for beer spoilersFollow and develop company SOP’sBeer data collection: ABV, IBU, SRM, CO2, DO, Plato, Ph, etcMaintain sanitary lab environment and lab supplies inventoryPerform and manage sensory programMaintain beer libraryAdhering to FDA/Health Dept. guidelines (FSMA)D.O. analysis of packaged beersPlan and track batches in EKOS softwareJOB DESCRIPTION

    Calibration of QC and lab equipmentAudit brewery inventory levels and perform input of new raw materialsLight cellar workPerform shelf life testsIdeal Candidate will have:High school diploma or GED requiredAt least 3-5 years of experience in a brewery laboratory or the willingness to learnExperience with record keepingDegree in microbiology or applicable majorPassion for the brewing processSolid Work Ethic
