Building/Facilities Maintenance Wanted in Boston @ Harpoon Brewery!
Position Overview
Mass. Bay Brewing Company (MBBC), parent company to Harpoon, UFO, Clown Shoes, Arctic Summer and City Roots, is Building and Facilities professional to oversee a wide variety of skilled tasks required to maintain our building and facility equipment. The ideal candidate will have working knowledge of HVAC systems, glycol chillers, water filtration, boilers and steam systems, wastewater pH treatment, forklifts and chargers, office maintenance, external building maintenance, and other general maintenance duties related to the care and maintenance of our buildings and facility equipment.

Working Environment
This position can be very physical in nature. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job you will be working over, under, and around potentially dangerous moving machinery in tight and cramped spaces. You will need to be able to work in awkward positions for extended periods of time and/or standing for long periods of time. This position also requires the ability to lift 50 pounds at shoulder length and up to 100 pounds in general. You must be comfortable working at heights while standing on a ladder. Platform, or basket. This work environment involves indoor and outdoor activities in various temperatures and weather conditions. Employees are exposed to high levels of noise requiring the use of hearing protection.

Requirements/Qualifications
- Ability to troubleshooting and repairing building and facility issues
- Ability to source parts needed to and maintain and repair all facility equipment
- Scheduling and coordinating work and inspections with contractors
- Computer skills/ability is required – nothing crazy, but you will be required to log work activities in a computer management system
- Ability to read and comprehend manual and drawings showing mechanical and electrical systems
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Daily facility inspections and record keeping.
- Performs regularly scheduled maintenance on heating and cooling units.
- Inspections and maintenance of air-conditioning units to ensure efficient operation.
- Daily inspection and maintenance of our water dichlorination and filtration system.
- Diagnoses mechanical and electrical malfunctions on all facility equipment.
- Maintaining all retail, bar, and office spaces.
- Daily inspection and operation of our wastewater pH treatment system.
- Maintain organized critical spare parts.
- Working with our contractors and venders onsite as they service and repair equipment.
- General maintenance on our forklifts and charging systems.
- Ensure proper operation of our wastewater pH control system.
- Operation and maintenance of our steam system to include boiler, make-up water skid, treatment system, pumps, steam valves, condensation valves and traps throughout the brewery
- Daily inspection and operation of our combined heat and power systems
- Maintaining interior and exterior lighting
- Maintaining CO2 and compressed air systems
- Maintenance and repair of all kitchen appliances
- Assisting maintenance department staff as needed
