Resident Culture Brewing - Charlotte, NC - Packaging Operator and Brewery Assistant

Resident Culture is a four year old locally owned and operated brewery located in the Plaza Midwood neighborhood of Charlotte, NC. We have a strong focus on carefully crafted lager beer, assertive hop forward ales, fruited sours, and barrel aged stouts and mixed culture ales. We consider our beer quality to be extremely important but secondary to how we treat our employees and the human connections we make. We highly value each of our employees and have created a tight family community amongst our staff and are looking to expand our family by adding a packaging operator/brewery assistant to our team. In addition to finding someone with the necessary technical skills and experience we are principally looking for individuals who fit our culture of hard work ethic and caring for our fellow team members.

The new team member we hire will work closely with our packaging lead to ensure the highest quality packaged product possible and will also help with a variety of other production tasks. In the near term (3-4 months) we will also need this team member to help 1-2 days per week with beer deliveries and helping move product and empty kegs to our new taproom location. Ultimately, we would love for this hire to show interest in taking over our as our packaging lead and we will be prioritizing this job responsibility in our hiring process.

Packaging duties will include:

• Assist in canning and bottling of all beers including setup and breakdown of packaging lines, box building, pack off, walk in organization
• Filling and cleaning kegs including setup and sanitation of kegging equipment as well as breakdown and cleaning
• Regular brewery cleaning including regular cleaning of all equipment, periodic brewhouse and cellar cleaning and floor scrubbing
• Taproom and walk in organization including rearranging full pallets of cans, kegs, and hop boxes
• Helping to mill in grain for brew day
• Regular beer sensory analysis

Other Responsibilities include:

• Helping with beer deliveries and moving product between our two locations
• Using invoices to compile and organize packaged beer that will go out for delivery in an organized and strategic fashion
• Operation of company van and delivery of packaged beer and draught beer to accounts around the Charlotte metro area as well as occasional deliveries to outside markets (Raleigh and Asheville)
• Route planning
• Acquisition of empty and dirty kegs from accounts
• Handling of payments/invoices/checks

Job Requirements:

• Mechanical aptitude and machine knowledge/interest a huge plus
• Ability to be standing or moving entire shift
• Ability to lift a 160lb full keg
• Ability to kneel, bend, crouch and work close to the floor
• Clean driving record
• Organized
• Experience driving a forklift or electric pallet jack a plus
• Ability to work on a team and support your fellow team members when needed
