    Duties will include:
    • Uphold Santa Monica Brew Works vision and goals
    • Follow, create, edit, and improve all SMBW SOPs
    • Proper handling of beer from tanks to packaged cans and kegs, keeping in mind the highest standards of safety, quality, and cleanliness.
    • Force carbonate beer to brand specifications and record DO’s and CO2 levels in the brite tank with Anton-Paar CBox
    • Safe and efficient operation of canning line, which includes depalletizer, twist rinse, filler, conveyers, blower/dryer, date coder, and paktech applicator
    • Measure and record TPO in packaged cans using Anton-Paar Cbox, and investigate/adjust fill settings to minimize oxygen pick up
    • Trouble-shoot issues during production and implement real time solutions to reduce liquid and material loss, TPO, and downtime
    • Safely dispense and handle cleaning chemicals with the use of proper PPE
    • Ensure the can line is clean and working properly – perform and document maintenance, report issues, and communicate when spare parts/misc. supplies are needed
    • Closely monitor packaging materials inventory and communicate when orders should be placed
    • Perform change overs, tear down cleaning and maintenance, record seam specs and adjust as needed
    • Lead pack-out team – communicate the schedule clearly and ensure everyone is working efficiently and safely
    • Accurate and timely recording. This includes but is not limited to liquid volumes throughout packaging, number of kegs cleaned per day, QC specs, finished goods counts, low fill counts, QC inventory, and materials waste
    • Effectively communicate with other departments and check in daily with Head Brewer about the packaging schedule
    • Working in confined spaces, lifting repeatedly, moving up to 165 pounds and climbing ladders repeatedly
    • Operating forklifts, pallet jacks and hand trucks
    • Operation of keg washer
    • Keg filling
    • Keep entire packaging area/floor clean and organized

    Ideal candidate looks something like this:
    • Experience repairing, adjusting, swapping parts, and troubleshooting canning line
    • 2+ years of experience operating a canning line
    • High school graduate or equivalent
    • Self-sufficient yet collaborative with a hands-on attitude and a strong work ethic
    • Ability to give and receive constructive feedback
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Must be at least 21 years of age
    • Strong interpersonal skills
    • Strong self and team time management skills
    • Attention to detail and meticulous data collection from the can line
    • Computer skills and EKOS software experience a plus
    • Forklift certification a plus

    Physical demands / Working conditions:
    • Ability to perform the essential functions of the job such as operating production and packaging equipment, driving a forklift, operating pallet jacks, and moving kegs
    • The duties and responsibilities that are generally performed in a brewery environment
    • The position generally involves continuous standing, frequent walking, moderate to heavy lifting, moderate to heavy carrying, frequent bending and reaching, frequent climbing of stairs and ladders, and in-person communication
    • Frequent lifting: up to 60 lbs.
    • Frequent moving: up to 165 lbs.
