    Purpose

    Irwin Brewing Company, located in Crested Butte, Colorado is seeking qualified candidates for the role of Brewery Operation Manager. The Brewery Operations Manager is responsible for growing and driving sales with the goal of a hand off to a Sales Director once sufficient sales growth has been established. The head of operations will also monitor production volume, safety, quality, and efficiency targets while providing timely customer delivery service with right product, right quantity and right cost.

    The Brewery Operations Manager will work closely with site leadership and the brewing staff to ensure process and product consistency as well as beer production goals. This position oversees the brewing and packaging operations as well as quality control. As part of the leadership team, the Brewery Operations Manager will be expected to contribute to our continued growth and expansion initiatives.


    • Measure and track set key performance indicators for each member of the operation team based on H1/H2 goals and incentives and provide constant feedback one on one on their current performance levels.
    • Lead weekly meetings to ensure the operation team is well prepared and informed and aligned with production volume, safety, quality and efficiency objectives.
    • Accountable for customer delivery performance and resolving escalated service issues, in order to maintain, develop and build solid relationships with all key and chain accounts.
    • Develop new business leads and track and grow current business accounts. Visit accounts monthly and report account development strategies to management.
    • Reinforce internal procedures and processes in day to day duties to maximize efficiency, streamline interaction between internal and external stakeholders and to ensure checks and balances are in place to guarantee effective internal control.
    • Lead individual performance reviews on an annual basis for each member of the team.
    • Oversee staffing decisions, performance management, training, safety and quality of the brewery operation. Ensure team members have the right tools, knowledge and equipment required to do their jobs safely and effectively.
    • Guarantee a safe working environment for employees by maintaining the facility and equipment in an optimal working environment and enforce adherence to safe work practices.
    • Ensure production goals are met while working closely with site leadership. Collaborate on all production activities and create schedules to meet sales forecasts and demands.
    • Develop and implement long & short-term planning goals and corrective action plans. Translate the overall business strategy into operational and sales goals and objectives for the brewery.
    • Standardize procedures and protocols and ensure they are being adhered to.
    • Research and implement industry trends and compliance initiatives to evolve the brewery operations standards.
    • Oversee the design, operation and improvement of systems that produce the Company’s products. Assess equipment purchases and major expenditures to maximize benefit.

    • Bachelor’s degree in food processing or business/engineering.
    • However, a master’s degree or Master of Business Administration is often preferred.
    Work Requirements

    • Must be able to lift 50+ pounds
    • Driver’s License required
    • Ability to travel to accounts and conferences, 60% on the road
    • Must be able to shift priorities and redirect sales and production goals as the position evolves

    Initial – 30 days
    • Develop understanding of current accounts needs, production and delivery schedule, and overall brewery operations

    30-90 Days
    • Develop SOPs, track and set key performance indicators for each member of the operation.
    • Grow sales and customer base, hire and hand off to sales manager within one year
