    Overview of Position

    We are looking for a fun, motivated, and self-starting individual to join the team as a Packaging Operator. You will be responsible for taking the finished product of the beer making process and ensuring that it is packaged in line with company and industry standards, making it ready for sale or distribution. Regulations, protocols, and quality systems are just as important here as they are at every other stage of the beer making process. The aim is for a streamlined and efficient process that operates quickly while keeping safety and quality for the finished product as a top priority. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, passionate, committed, relentlessly quality-focused, a good team player, and will want to grow professionally with Mighty Squirrel. This person must have an extreme attention to detail and take feedback well. This position will report to our Packaging and Supply Chain Lead.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Startup and closing of the canning line, keg filling station and keg washing equipment

    • Operate canning line and/or fill kegs with minimal supervision

    • Execute pre-production QA/QC of equipment in accordance with the site’s quality requirements

    • Routine checks and preventative maintenance of equipment

    • Efficient completion of packaging, final assembly, and storage

    • Product labeling and inspection of final products

    • Completion of distribution documentation

    • Organize raw materials and finished goods with pallet jacks and forklifts

    • Maintain cleanliness of equipment and work area

    • Report issues when they arise – this should be done quickly to minimize any impact on the efficiency of production

    • Maintain all relevant documentation for equipment and process

    • Assist in the loading and unloading of vendor deliveries

    • Update packaging information and inventories in the brewery management software (Ekos Brewmaster)


    Qualifications

    • Minimum one year of experience working with commercial pieces of equipment

    • Knowledge of the craft beer industry and emerging trends

    • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-tasking; strong communication skills

    • Ability to lift 55 lbs. and move up to 165 lbs. using traditional methods

    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment yet be precise in daily tasks

    • Organized, detail-oriented, and attentive to quality and standards

    • Confident and team-oriented

    • Full availability throughout the week: ability to work morning, mid-day, evening, and weekends as needed.

    • Packaging Operators are responsible for the daily operation of the machinery involved in packaging. You must have an acute understanding of the normal function of our machinery as well as a good understanding of basic troubleshooting.

    • Ability to obtain MA DOT Medical Card

    • Ability to load and drive 16’ box truck

    • Strong mechanical aptitude & problem-solving skills

    • Knowledge/understanding of basic hand and power tools

    • Self-motivated and ability to perform tasks independently

    • Ability to arrange and wrap pallets for safe transportation

    • Ability to learn manufacturing equipment, follow production procedures and exercise extreme caution when handling chemicals, hot water, and high-pressure gasses and tanks
