  • Production Assistants/Technicians - Boulder, CO

We are looking to expand the Hoplark Production Team! At Hoplark, we make HopTea - a non-alcoholic sparkling hopped beverage made from three simple ingredients: tea, hops, and water. We are looking both for production assistants and technicians. With no fermentation, our process takes three days from brew to can. We currently produce about 150 bbl per week in 30-bbl batches, but we are in the midst of scaling up to a 120-bbl system. We just turned two years old on 5/20/20, and are based and brewed in our home of Boulder, CO. We are nationally distributed which is, especially in this current moment, heavily supplemented by DTC sales. Although we have a tap room, it is currently closed until further notice.

Ideal candidates for either position will have previous manufacturing experience (preferably in a brewing or food environment) and mechanical ability (or mechanical aptitude with openness to training for mechanical ability). Ability to lift up to 45 pounds repeatedly is a must, as is comfort working in an environment that is frequently loud, wet, hot, cold, and busy. Candidates must accept the realities of a start-up environment and have ability to pivot when production, packaging, or other needs may require changes to the day’s agenda. We are working on an SQF food safety certification, so paperwork is a major part of every brew.

Production assistants will primarily be responsible for supporting production in our brewery and are not necessarily expected to have any brewery or food manufacturing experience, although it is a major plus. Their responsibilities will include providing support during canning runs, cleaning tanks, supporting brewing, and supporting hopping, as well as fulfilling all required documentation for any assigned processes. Additional responsibilities may include but are not limited to preparing orders for shipment, preventative maintenance, and various administrative tasks.

Production technicians must have brewing and/or food manufacturing experience. Depending on that experience, their responsibilities may include any of those listed under the production assistant description, as well as brewing, hopping, operating the canning line, centrifuge, or pasteurizer.

Because of the nature of our process, there will be tons of opportunities for crosstraining in either position, as well as potential leadership roles and other growth within the company.

As a food manufacturing facility, Hoplark has maintained continuous operation throughout the pandemic. We have adjusted employee schedules and process flows in order to maintain appropriate safety precautions within the brewery. These elevated precautions are required conditions of employment, subject to change as appropriate, and are not limited to but include practicing physical distancing, wearing a mask, and taking temperature readings prior to coming to work.
