    Definitive Brewing Company, located in Portland, Maine opened it's Portland based brewery & tasting room in May of 2018. Additionally, we recently opened a second taproom in Kittery, about an hour south of our Portland brewery. We have become known for producing a wide variety of styles such as Kolsch-style Ales, New England IPA, Adjunct Double Milk Stouts and Fruited Kettle Sour Ales to name a few. At Definitive, we operate a 15 bbl , 2-vessel-steam powered brew house and currently have 6 x 30 bbl fermentation vessels, 2 X 15 bbl fermentation vessels and 2 x 30 bbl brite beer tanks. We expect to continue to focus on organic growth and are looking to add a qualified candidate to our production team who would like to grow with us.

    The Production Assistant's main job duties will lie in packaging operations (keg washing & filling, canning, etc.). The Production Assistant will also be expected to help with things such as: shipping & receiving, loading of grain into grist case for brew days, assisting cellar persons with dry hopping & fruiting beers and anything else that requires their help in the production operation. We are still a young company with a small team and everyone is expected to help out in other areas of the company if asked to do so. While the bulk of this position lies in the production area, it will also include time spent each week doing the following: landscaping/grounds keeping & snow removal during applicable months, assisting with distribution and assembling outgoing orders and assisting with cleaning and maintenance of entire facility. As the company grows there may be opportunity for the Production Assistant to grow with it - should they meet or exceed expectations for the position. This is an entry level position and a good opportunity to get a foot in the door in the brewing industry. Scheduling flexibility is a MUST.

    Consisting of but not limited to:
    Keg washing & filling
    Assisting on canning days
    Weekly brewery cleaning
    Warehousing of kegs, raw materials, etc.
    Help maintain a clean and safe brewery
    Accept and unload shipments as they arrive
    Assist in raw ingredient and chemical inventory
    Organize and clean coolers
    Prepare and load pallets of outgoing beer
    Landscaping/grounds keeping
    Snow removal

    High School Diploma
    Production experience not required but preferable
    High attention to detail and the ability to multitask
    Excellent sanitation skills
    Excellent communication skills
    Ability to follow instructions both verbal and written
    Hard working with a positive attitude
    Ability to operate a forklift safely (will train the right person)
    Good problem solver
    Mechanical inclination seen as a big bonus

    Ability to safely lift 55+ lbs on a regular basis
    Work in a hot/cold and wet environment
    Stand and work on concrete floors for duration of shift
    Ability to bend, crouch and reach

    Hourly wage
    25 - 30 hours per week
