Job Goal:
Reporting to the Production Manager, the PM shift Technical Operator is responsible for the operation, change over and minor maintenance of 21A’s high speed can and packaging lines.
Job Responsibilities:
- Primarily responsible for, but not limited to: The operation, changeover, and maintenance of our Douglas case packer and TP-50 tray forming machines.
- Focus on run time efficiencies and quality finished goods.
- Responsible for the leadership of the pack team in the absence of the PM packaging Supervisor.
- Packaging equipment repairs in a safe and timely manner. Assisting the PM pack team in all packaging operations.
- Assist in developing SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and help develop future operator training programs.
- Maintain accurate records of packaging runs.
- Weekly cleaning and sanitation of all canning equipment.
Requirements for potential applicants:

- Must have prior experience in Brewery packaging, Beverage packaging, Dairy packaging, or other Food Packaging Industries as Technical Operator or Maintenance tech.
- Experience with power transmission, VFD’s, motors, gear reduction boxes, conveyors, pneumatics and hydraulics.
- Electrical experience including trouble shooting sensors, and low voltage control systems.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills within a fast-paced work environment.
- Computer skills, word, excel, outlook.
- Flexible schedule: ability to work overtime and weekend shifts as needed.
- Knowledge of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice).
- Valid California Driver’s License is required.
The following skills are considered a plus:
- Experience with PLC automation and instrumentation.
- Prior knowledge of commercial brewing and packaging processes.
- Prior industrial forklift experience.
- Experience with ERP systems.
- Knowledge of 5S practices (sort, straighten, shine, standardize and sustain).
