Are you a Heretic? Heretic Brewing Company is an award winning craft beer brewery and distillery located in Fairfield California and our family of Heretics is passionate about brewing the perfect beer. You would be joining our family of smart, funny, friendly and hardworking people as a Packaging Team Leader. What does that mean? Well, we aren't some giant brewery, where you sit in a glass cage all day and fill out reports. No, we're not a super tiny brewery either, where you end up cleaning the bathrooms every day, but our jobs come with a lot of different and ever changing challenges. After all, making the best beer is dependent on every little aspect of brewing, from the grain to the glass, and you will be a key part of that. We are looking for smart, highly motivated people with a professional demeanor and we are willing to train you for this career if you have the right aptitude and a willingness to learn.
The main focus of this job will be leading the packaging team with the packaging of cans and bottles of beer, but we like to cross train people with other brewery tasks as time permits.
Key Responsibilities
Your main focus will be on packaging beer in cans and bottles. Typical daily tasks include:
• Running the canning and bottling line and managing the packaging team on the canning and bottling line
• Performing a cleaning cycle and sanitizing cycle on the canning and bottling lines
• Maintaining the canning line, labeler and packing machine
• Keeping an inventory of all packaging material (cans, bottles, labels, trays, etc) and ordering more as required
• Following SOP for the can filler/seamer/labeler and Paktek and making sure can seams, and fill levels and DO readings are within spec.
• Any other free time will be spent doing other brewery tasks (keg washing, keg filling, floor cleaning, etc.)
Qualifications
• 21 or older
• Ability to lift 55 lbs
• Attention to detail is critical
• College degree of any kind a plus
• Must be a team player with a positive attitude
• Self-motivated and proactive
• Adaptable and able to efficiently manage time and tasks
• A valid California driver's license is required
Experience on a packaging line and/or at a commercial brewery is preferred
