    Ithaca Beer Co. is looking for enthusiastic, experienced, team-oriented individual to join the Packaging Team.

    Position Overview: Packaging Manager
    The Ithaca Beer Co. Packaging Manager is responsible for operating and maintaining multiple packaging lines, overseeing the packaging Crew, and packaging a variety of products at the highest level of quality. Packaging Manager position is a salary, full-time position with an advanced level of experience and responsibility. This position is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting and improving mechanical and electrical equipment & systems in a working manufacturing environment with an emphasis on employee safety as the top priority. Successful candidates must demonstrate a high degree of motivation, accept responsibility for process outcomes, as well as show flexibility to work hours outside of their primary schedule.
    Responsibilities include:

    Facilities
    • Forms, maintains, executes, and communicates preventative maintenance plans and schedules
    • Performs emergency and non-planned maintenance to avoid disruptions in production.
    • Maintains spare parts, equipment inventories.
    • Knowledge and understanding of CO2, and compressed air systems.
    • Ability to commission, install, and educate in the operation of new equipment and procedures.
    • Proactively provide maintenance and recommend upgrades to our operations and facility that will maximize productivity, avoid/minimize downtime, and prolong the life of installed assets.
    • Ensure work orders and projects are completed efficiently, and within budget.
    • Ability to coordinate and facilitate support from manufacturer and vendor partners.
    • Must work well in a team-oriented environment and have excellent communication/interpersonal skills.

    Mechanical
    • Determines root cause of equipment failures and recommends procedural and/or system modifications to prevent repeat occurrences.
    • Ability to accurately diagnose the source of failures and either make or facilitate repairs to all mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and electronic systems.
    • Be the boots on the ground eyes and ears working with the automation and controls contractor who would be assisting via remote access.
    • Troubleshoot manufacturing instrumentation; verify/correct appropriate electrical signals (4-20ma, 24 VDC, 120 VAC) using a multi-meter for temperature, pressure, and flow devices.
    • Ability to examine malfunctioning pumps and other rotating equipment to locate damage or wear.
    • Diagnose, repair, and overhaul automatic control valves, sensors, positioners, actuators, basic electrical AC/DC troubleshooting and related systems.
    • Ability to troubleshoot and replace control components to include photo eyes, motor starters, variable speed drives, encoders, relays, limit switches, proximity sensors, timers, solenoids, motors, and other line control devices.
    • Demonstrate ability to validate the operation and reliability of all repairs before being recommissioned to production.

    Optional Skills
    • Ability to troubleshoot and program Allen Bradley programmable logic controller (PLC)
    • Programming and troubleshooting expertise with Rockwell’s FactoryTalk View SE supervisory control and data acquisition platform.

    • In the event of process irregularities, demonstrate an ability to take decisive action that leads to resolution, while abiding by sound Food Safety principles.

    Required Experience:
    – 1-5 years of experience in a Food & Beverage Production and Packaging
    – Solid written and verbal communication skills.
    – Organized, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task is a must.
    – Friendly, positive, confident, and engaging attitude.
    – Demonstrated safe working habits, and ability to work in confined spaces.
