Packaging Specialist Role:
We are currently seeking a full-time logistics and packaging specialist for our Morganton, NC brewery. We are looking for a member of our team who is hungry to find ways to improve our company and work as a team, humble and as satisfied giving a compliment as getting one, and smart about treating people with respect.
Basic Duties include:
• Being safe at all times
• Being respectful of everyone
• Capturing and recording data required for operating the packaging line including flow meter readings, levels, etc.
• Packing six packs into case trays and packing case trays onto pallets
• Working with the packaging team to cover for each other, to keep various packaging materials available through the canning process.
• Accurately capturing product data and producing pallet sheets for each pallet of beer
• Properly wrapping pallets of cans or kegs of beer so they can safely be transported to our warehouse and to distributors
• Safely operate equipment such as pallet jack to move heavy loads without damaging either the product being moved
• Learn to use keg cleaning equipment and develop skill at efficiently washing kegs when keg washing is required
• Learn to operate and take and record readings on a CBox machine to test for dissolved oxygen and carbonation levels
• Learn to operate seam checking equipment to check quality of seal of can lid to can base
• Operating a forklift. Requires passing a written and practical examination for certification
Other Responsibilities:
• Be there and ready to work when your shift starts
• Read, understand and follow employee handbook
• Read, understand and follow all SOPs including safety from both OSHA and our own guidelines
• Become licensed to operate a forklift and electric pallet jack within the first two months of employment
• Use iSolved to clock in, clock out and manage any human resources activities
• Basic Microsoft Outlook for email communication
