JOB TITLE: QUALITY CONTROL MANAGER

LOCATION: ANAHEIM, CA

REPORTS TO: BREWMASTER, GENERAL MANAGER


Bottle Logic Brewing is hiring a full-time Quality Control Manager to join our rapidly expanding production team! We have a shiny new brewhouse, additional tanks, and a rotary bottler to learn and work with. Our pilot system gives us nearly unlimited flexibility in exploring the boundaries of beer. With your help, we will be able to brew more of our fantastically flavorful beers, including our award-winning barrel-aged stouts.


YOUR ROLE WILL INCLUDE, BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO:

• Establish and maintain a comprehensive Quality Control process that includes chemical analysis and microbial stability
• Create, update, and maintain standard operating procedures for lab.
• Process and analyze the microbiology of the beer being produced, use this knowledge to make educated recommendations to the brewers and management team for quality improvement.
• Measure and track dissolved Oxygen and CO2 levels.
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment.
• Collect and quantify packaged beer archive for sensory panels.
• Manage sensory panels and record results for stability analysis and shelf-life recommendations.
• Perform microbiological testing (aseptic techniques, enrichment, plating, microscopy, PCR) on raw ingredients, in-process beer, and finished beer.
• Develop and manage yeast program including ordering, propagating, monitoring viability and pitch rates with input from Lead Brewer.
• Assist with troubleshooting production issues.
• Research and develop the QA/QC Department.
• Other duties as assigned
• Reporting all of the above to our Brewmaster and General Manager.
• Other brewery-related tasks that may require assistance.
• Any other duties delegated to by a manager.
• Performing all functions according to Bottle Logic procedures and policies.

CANDIDATES MUST POSSESS:

• 3 + years QA/QC Experience is preferred
• A Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences is preferred
• Excellent communication, time management, troubleshooting, and organizational skills
• Strong overall understanding of safety procedures, regulations, and requirements
• Communicate clearly and concisely with respect to all Bottle Logic’s personnel at all levels, in addition to customers and suppliers
• 21+ years of age, and the ability to pass a criminal background and illegal drug test
• Extreme attention to detail
• Ability to multitask effectively

• Clean driving record and reliable transportation
• A passion for quality craft beer
