Job Title: Full time warehouse/packaging operator
Reports to: Director of operations
Compensation:

• Base Salary Range: $18-22 / hr depending on experience

Position Summary: This is a dual role position, warehousing and packaging. The duties of the warehousing role will involve receiving, shipping, organizing, and inventorying warehoused items. The second role will be packaging, specifically operating a packaging machine that takes beverages, in aluminum cans, and packs them into paperboard cartons. Duties will involve, but are not limited to, setup, changeover, troubleshooting, cleaning, and loading/unloading material for machine operation. Other responsibilities will involve all aspects of the physical packaging operation as this is an all-encompassing floor position.

Responsibilities:

• Safe operation of forklifts and pallet jacks, including basic maintenance and inspections
• Receive warehouse goods following company standard operating procedures (SOP)
• Store and organize received goods in accordance with SOP
• Maintain cleanliness of warehouse
• Ship parcels via Fedex as ordered through online platform
• Maintain standing inventory of warehoused goods following company SOP
• Maintain supplies required for department and facilities by alerting manager of low stock levels
• Safe operation of packaging machine and ancillary equipment following SOP
• Starting/stopping and changing over packaging machine to various pack sizes per SOP
• Trouble shooting and minor repair of packaging machine to correct production issues such as bad carton loading or closing.
• Performing quality checks on produced goods, checking glue fiber tear, date code legibility
• Keeping record of daily production, material consumption and loss
• Loading packaging machine with product and materials
• Palletizing produced cases and warehousing pallets according to SOP
• Cleaning and maintaining packaging machine and ancillary equipment including conveyors, ink-jet date coder and air compressor

Qualifications/Skills and Knowledge Requirements:

• Must be 21 years of age
• Experience using a forklift, preferably 2 plus years
• Must be physically able to stand 8 hours, lift and carry 30 lbs repetitively, push and pull pallets of goods weighting 2,000 lbs with pallet jacks, ascend/descend ladders, position one-self to work in confined spaces such as under conveyor or inside machine, fine and gross manipulation of both hands, respond quickly to sounds and lights, move safely over uneven ground or in confined spaces, able to work in cold environments and on concrete floors, able to wear personal protective gear most of the day, able to see and respond to dangerous situations.
• Basic computer knowledge, proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Google sheets and ability to learn other online platforms for shipping, receiving, warehouse management and production tracking.
• Good mechanical aptitude, 2 plus years of hands on experience operating automated equipment, familiarity using hand tools.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Self motivated
