    We are currently seeking an experienced Packaging Manager to lead a two-shift packaging operation supporting our annual growth in excess of 50%. Our Packaging Department equipment consists of 200 cpm filler/seamer with supporting cartoner, traymaker, and can depal plus automated keg line. Reporting to the Director of Operations, this position requires a healthy mix of on the floor leading, troubleshooting, and driving continuous improvement balanced with management duties of team development, training, scheduling participation and general management oversight.
    The primary responsibilities of this role are to:
    • Lead packaging operations to achieve defined goals for Safety, Quality, Cost, Team Development and Environmental stewardship.
    • Develops and implements Production and Quality process improvements including but not limited to production waste, labor efficiency, schedule adherence, and equipment care and hygiene.
    • Manages on floor analytical equipment’s cleanliness and operator training.
    • Assist with Directors of Quality and Operations in traceability of finished goods produced.
    • Drive GMP and Lean Manufacturing/5’s programs in the packaging function.
    • Work effectively with fellow managers to reach company growth and financial goals.

    Specific duties include but are not limited to:
    • Participate in weekly scheduling meetings.
    • Administer packaging department personnel goal setting, performance reviews, and training program.
    • Communicate and update daily/weekly production schedule for packaging operations.
    • Develop and communicate performance metrics for packaging department KPI’s
    • Ensure accuracy and completeness of all daily packaging shift reports and production counts
    • Perform batch record reviews and audits as needed
    • Administers budget and staffing requirements for packaging department
    • Makes recommendations/justification for capital improvements for packaging department
    • Communicate with brewing partners and vendors on packaging related issues, questions, and information.
    • Cover packaging shift duties as needed.

    • 3-5 years direct management experience managing a team on a high speed can filler and automated keg line
    • 3-5 years Operator experience on a high speed can filler packaging line
    • Strong mechanical aptitude
    • Industry related education desired (ie. MBAA Packaging course completion or similar)
    • Orchestrated ERP experience a plus, basic MS office/excel skills a must
    • Experience with EOS/Traction or Lean Manufacturing/5’s environment a plus

    The salary range for this position is $50,000 - $70,000 depending on qualifications and experience. All full-time positions at SGB are eligible for PTO, paid holidays, health/dental/vision, 401k with company match, and profit-sharing program.
