    Kane Brewing is currently looking to hire a Packaging Lead.

    The Packaging Lead will be responsible for the execution of all packaging operations in accordance to the plan and guidance set by the Director of Brewing Operations. The Packaging Lead will be responsible for maintaining the smooth and efficient functioning of all packaging equipment, the organization and cleanliness of the packaging cellar and the efficient planning of labor resources. The Packaging Lead will work with the Director of Brewing Operations to develop and maintain all packaging SOPs and checklists.

    Key Responsibilities:
    Packaging
    • Execute Director of Brewing Operations plan, providing feedback on task feasibility
    • Direct management of packaging team’s execution ensuring all necessary resources are available (parts, equipment, time) and well-maintained
    • Ensure accuracy and consistency of readings from packaging team, remedy faults and alert Director of Brewing Operations and Quality to significant deviations from targets
    • Maintain a clean and orderly packaging cellar area
    • Liaison with Facilities Maintenance team for preventative maintenance scheduling and prioritization
    Quality
    • Participation in daily go- / no-go sensory on beers in process
    • On-floor root-cause problem solving with necessary escalation to Quality department and Director of Brewing Operations
    • Weekly key performance indicator review meeting with Director of Brewing Operations to discuss packaging results and process adjustments
    • Development of upper and lower control limits of packaging quality assurance parameters
    • Plan and schedule calibration and maintenance of keg cleaner, keg filling lines, canning line, and bottling lines
    • Onboarding of all packaging employees and ongoing training of existing employees
      • Creation of training program with Director of Brewing Ops and Quality, maintain learning matrix for individual team members and scorecards for packaging team
    • Maintenance of all packaging related quality documents (SOPs, Checklists, Sanitation Schedule) in Quality Manual
    • Develop and maintain sanitation records and sanitation schedule plan for packaging equipment

    Requirements:
    • At least 1 year of experience in a production/packaging brewery or related beverage industry
    • Experience with automated and manual packaging lines
    • Able to work safely with all materials and equipment involved in operations
    • Exhibits a strong knowledge of packaging theory and practice
    • Has strong skills in communication, organization, record keeping and time management
    • Moderate to strong mechanical comprehension
    • Strict attention and adherence to safety standards
    • Must be self-motivated with the demonstrated ability to take ownership and initiative to perform tasks beyond assignment-specific duties
    • Must be able to:
      • Lift 55 lbs and move 165 lbs occasionally
      • Operate a forklift and complex machinery
      • Work in a non-temperature-controlled environment



    This position is full-time, on-site at our Ocean Township, NJ brewery location.
