We are looking for a Maintenance Mechanic to oversee start-up, shutdown and changeover of equipment as needed by operations. The purpose of this position is to effectively, efficiently, and safely meet all job requirements, abilities, accountabilities, and goals directed by the supervisor.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Start-up/shutdown/changeover equipment as needed by operations.
- Assume updates from prior shift mechanic.
- Respond quickly and efficiently to any disruption of normal production.
- Maintain appropriate records of machine greasing and any adjustments.
- Report any downtime or problem areas to Maintenance Manager.
- Maintain equipment efficiencies and assist on floor at all times (unless otherwise directed).
- Respond to calls for maintenance and get further assistance when needed.
- Carrying out routine maintenance activities according to the maintenance schedule. Where routine maintenance reveals larger problems, escalate to the Maintenance Manager to facilitate assistance as needed.
- Provide input to the maintenance planning process.
- Participate in maintenance post mortems to feedback problems, opportunities and learning’s from maintenance activities.
- Monitor trends when conducting routine maintenance. Where trends indicate the existence of underlying problems, corrective action must be taken. This corrective action may involve the maintenance team, the packaging team and/or the Maintenance Manager.
- Continuously make improvements to the production line for safety, quality and speed concerns.
- Complete gearbox inspections and lubrication routines as assigned.
- Ensure needed parts are ordered by providing the information to both the Maintenance Planner and Maintenance Manager.
- Immediately respond to any calls made by the Production Lead or Maintenance Manager.

Some computer knowledge and PLC knowledge is required.
Required Education and/or Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Additional technical schooling or training is a plus.
Physical Demands:
- Required to move about facility.
- Ascend/descend structures as needed.
- Ability to lift 60 lbs.
- May be required to perform additional duties as requested, directed or assigned.
- Must be able to wear safety equipment for the entire shift.
- Must be comfortable working at heights and using safety harnesses.
