Packaging Operator Job description
Pike Brewing is in a period of radical and exciting change, and we are looking for a Packaging Operator to join our team. Pike is a Landmark Craft Seattle brewery operating for over 30 years. We are looking for folks who are excited to integrate with a dedicated and close-knit production crew.

Key responsibilities for this role include running and maintaining the packaging lines.
This role is considered an entry-level position into the production area of the brewery and work closely with brewing and packaging crew members, and responsibilities include:
-Packout operations (building trays and palletizing cases)
-Keg washing and filling
-Assisting with set up and close down of the canning line
-Light cellar tasks as necessitated by packaging demands
product and packaging quality checks
Keen attention to quality of product (pre and post packaging), elevate concerns as needed
Keep canning line operational, address concerns before they become problems
Safe operation of canning, bottling, labeling, and kegging equipment
Safe operation of pallet jack, power jack, and forklift
Troubleshooting and adjusting equipment as needed for smooth operation
Quality inspection of all packaged products
Maintaining an orderly and safe work environment in department as well as entire facility
Keg cleaning & filling
Safe handling of chemicals required for cleaning and sanitization
Other duties as required throughout the brewery
Experience within the brewing/packaging field is not necessary, we are willing to train.

Must be able to lift 50 pounds and move 170 pounds regularly.
Must have the ability to regularly stand, walk, use hands, reach, climb, work from heights, stoop, kneel and crouch.
The ability to work near moving parts and machinery.
Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, the ability to adjust focus and the ability to see color, either with or without accommodation.
The ability to work in loud, wet, cold, hot, indoor and outdoor environments frequently.
Hours may vary if emergencies arise (typical work week = 45 hours)

Skills/Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent
Prior experience in a production/manufacturing environment
Strong mechanical aptitude
Good written and verbal communication skills
A problem solver with attention to detail
Able to work independently and as a team with or without direct supervision
Work well under pressure and at a fast pace
Ability to stand for extended periods of time
Ability to handle repetitive work with a positive attitude
Must be willing to work in hot, cold, and wet conditions
Must be dependable and have reliable transportation
