POSITION: Lead Canning Line Operator
Minneapolis Cider Company is a craft cider and beverage manufacturer in the heart of Minneapolis, MN. We specialize in products that are fruit-forward, inventive and push the boundaries.
We are expanding our range of products as well as our distribution footprint. We currently operate a cellar and canning operation that supports a local cider brand and a THC beverage brand. In early 2024 we will be adding an additional canning line and in-line pasteurization to support the addition of a regional cider brand. Our annual production is approaching 75,000 CE's.
We are looking for someone with experience in day-to-day operations of packaging equipment to run our new canning operation and to help us grow.

As a Lead Canning Line Operator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and high-quality packaging of our products. You will operate and maintain our CODI CCL-45 canning lines, making sure that each can of packaged product meets quality standards and that the lines continue to run smoothly. Key Responsibilities:
- Set up, operate, and maintain the canning line equipment, including fillers, seamers, depalletizer, tunnel pasteurizer, and other supporting equipment.
- Monitor the canning process to ensure accurate filling and sealing of cans.
- Conduct routine equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and adjustments as needed to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
- Perform quality control checks at various stages of the canning process to ensure product integrity and consistency.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including regular cleaning of equipment and workspaces.
- Assist with packaging and palletizing finished products as necessary.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with other team members to meet production goals and quality standards.
- Record production data and maintain accurate records of canning runs.
- Oversee packaging staff during operation
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic production environment where deadlines are common
- Previous experience operating canning or packaging equipment in a food or beverage production environment. Experience with CODI CCL-45 is a bonus!
- Mechanical aptitude, including compressed air, plumbing, and electrical and ability to troubleshoot and perform minor equipment maintenance.
- Willingness to find solutions when issues are outside of own abilities
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality control
- Flexibility to work varying shifts and longer days if needed
- Able to comply with safe chemical handling procedures, including personal protection equipment such as gloves and goggles
- Able to comply with all regulatory requirements relating to food safety and handling
- Able to safely operate material handling equipment (hand trucks, forklifts, pallet jacks)
- Able to stand for prolonged periods
- Able to stoop, crawl, twist, turn, lift, kneel, climb ladders and stairs
- Able to regularly lift/carry heavy objects (55 lbs.) repeatedly and safely above waist-level
- Able to work in a factory environment which may be loud, hot, humid, cold, or slick
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment with high-pressure deadlines and time constraints
- At least 21 years of age at time of application
