Brewery Warehouse Associate/Forklift Operator (San Jose)
Hours: Full-time, Mid-day shift
Compensation: TBD/DOE
Location: This position will work out of our San Jose warehouse
POSITION SUMMARY:
Almanac Beer Co is seeking a passionate & beer-savvy individual to join its Operations team in the role of Brewery Warehouse Associate/Forklift Operator. This position is a full-time, warehouse-based role that reports to the Warehouse Manager. The core of the Warehouse Associate/Forklift Operator’s role will be to act as support for shipping & receiving, warehouse maintenance, and to assist the Warehouse Manager & Oak Program Manager with any related logistics needs. Forklift certification is a must.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Forklift operation
- Safely loading & unloading freight from trailers and general material handling
- Shipping & receiving
- Finished goods order picking, pallet assembly, and staging
- Receiving and shipment of materials & orders
- Warehouse organization and upkeep
- Organization of materials storage lanes and other materials storage areas
- Daily maintenance, cleanliness and upkeep of warehouse
- Inventory management
- Assist in maintaining live inventory of finished goods, dry goods, and materials
- Oak barrel maintenance
- Assist production team with barrel cleaning, barrel moving and organization
- Assist warehouse & production team with day-to-day tasks as needed, i.e.:
- Dumping kegs & cases of out of code product
- Assisting in the production bottling line
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to engage in physical activities and manual labor where prolonged standing, walking, & heavy lifting is part of the day-to-day
- Ability to routinely lift and move heavy objects, including 30 lb cases and full kegs of beer up to 150 lbs
- Ability to work in a factory/production setting with wide temperature ranged environment
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- At least 21 years of age
- Forklift certification – required
- 2+ years forklift operation experience
- Valid CDL/clean driving record
- Ability to work a schedule of (5) full 8-hour workdays per week, with the flexibility to work evenings and weekends
- Highly organized individual who will take pride in maintaining a clean, well-functioning warehouse
- Proficient verbal & written communication skills
- Strong work ethic and self-starting attitude with a desire to work in a fast-paced, growing company
