Taxman Brewing Company in Bargersville, IN (30 min. south of downtown Indianapolis) is looking for the right individual to join our expanding team as Packaging Lead. We're a Belgian-style brewery and gastropub operating a 20bbl system, currently producing 4000 bbl/year and we're growing!

Position: Packaging Lead
Hours: Full Time, Salary, Typically 40 hours per week
Compensation: Commensurate with experience

Key Responsibilities
- Operate, manage, troubleshoot, clean and maintain a Wild Goose WGC 250 canning line w/ Pack Leader labeler, an HDP DFA2 bottle filler, custom bottle-conditioning 6-head filler and IDD Squire-2 keg-washer/filler
- Monitor/verify beer quality metrics with Hach Orbisphere DO meter, Zahm & Nagel carbonation tester, pH meter and ATP swabbing
- Sustain quality-hold program and ensure timely review of datecoded stock
- Maintain good and competent records of all brewing activities to assist with all relevant federal, state and local compliance requirements
- Follow and improve upon coldside and quality SOPs, as well as follow containment/sanitation procedures for sour beers
- Assist Logistics Manager with managing finished-goods inventory, storage/transportation, weekly counts, sales reservations, inventory adjustment/reporting and cooler organization
- Coordinate packaging labor needs with management
- Manage transport and organization of packaging materials from various locations on- and off-site
- Lead process improvement projects requiring mechanical aptitude
- Maintain safe operation of fork lifts, pallet jacks and other stock maneuverability equipment once trained

Other Duties
- Assist in coldside operations as needed
- Attend industry related events and give brewery tours as needed

Skills/Requirements
- Previous cellar or packaging experience is required; previous experience with the listed equipment a plus
- Strong technical knowledge and acumen is required for this position
- Previous packaging management and/or certification/education in packaging or brewing processes a plus
- Experience operating a forklift is a plus
- Clean driving record (must be insurable under our drivers policy)
- Strong attention to detail and focus and work well in undefined circumstances
- Ability to work safely in an industrial environment, including (but not limited to) using chemicals properly, utilizing appropriate PPE and identifying/correcting potential workplace hazards
- Ability to lift 60 lbs, move 160 lbs
- Flexible with work schedule (nights and weekends as needed)
- Ability to maneuver in enclosed spaces and on ladder elevations safely
