Job Overview: As our Packaging Technician, you are responsible for the duties involved with packaging our beer to include kegging, bottling, canning and growler cleaning. You will setup and break-down each canning/bottling and kegging run, label product, build & stage packaging for finished products, and ready product for transport/delivery and fill and tend to QC/QA testing bottles and cans.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Carbonate and/or prep bright beer for bottle/keg conditioning.
- Setup/sanitize packaging equipment for canning/bottling/kegging runs.
- Support Brewery Team to develop and maintain Packaging SOPs to operate packaging and keg cleaning equipment in a safe manner.
- Clean and break down bottle and canning equipment, including work area.
- Complete all labeling for packaged products.
- Troubleshooting any beer issues as well as mechanical problems.
- Assist Brewery Team with organization and cleanliness.
- Assist with cleaning and sanitizing of packaging and brewery equipment.
- Safely dispense and handle cleaning chemicals including proper use of PPE.
- Maintain standards of quality, safety, and cleanliness.
- Fill out paperwork to report production output data in a timely manner.
- Assist in sensory analysis.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Arrive to work on time and ready to work as scheduled.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Mechanically inclined, with the ability to independently troubleshoot issues making on site repairs/adjustments.
- STRONG cleaning/sanitizing background.
- Outstanding communication and problem solving skills.
- Self-starter who is willing to do what it takes to get the job done.
- Desire to keep learning and make a positive impact.
- Knowledge and passion of the craft beer business.
- At least 1 year packaging experience or similar role at a brewery.
- Bottle conditioning experience a plus.
