    Delta Beer Lab serves as a community destination and brewery in Madison, Wisconsin. Located just 8 minutes south of the State Capitol, we strive to expand community through quality, local craft beer without barriers to gender, race, or sexual orientation.

    To continue achieving our mission and vision, we are adding a Taproom & Events Manager to our team. This position will provide direct support and supervision for our taproom staff, develop strong relationships throughout the community, and expand our rapidly growing events program. This position will serve as a member of the management team and will actively assist in our vision of crafting change. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional with extensive hospitality experience and interest in developing progressive culture through top quality craft beer and programming.

    The Taproom & Events Manager is a day-to-day hands-on and supervisory position that is responsible for planning, directing, and overseeing all aspects of operations at The Lab (taproom). Well qualified candidates must have relevant brewery, taproom, and/or bar/restaurant management experience. Some of the key responsibilities of the job include:
    • Manage and supervise taproom staff including scheduling, hiring, training, evaluating, motivating, and supporting the team.
    • Educate the team and guests about Delta Beer Lab’s monthly Nonprofit Partner, mission, and encourage community involvement.
    • Expand group/event reservations and communicate thoroughly with group leaders in planning, during and after the events.
    • Develop and host company-produced events, schedule food trucks, and collaborate with other makers, artists, community leaders, etc. that expand the reach and impact of the Delta Beer Lab mission.
    • Monitor taproom sales and trends.
    • Manage taproom payroll, event, and supply expenses.
    • Analyze and respond to financial results.
    • Manage all day-to-day functions of the taproom and help other departments as needed.

    The ideal candidate fosters strong attention to detail, focuses on short and long-term goals, motivates each person they interact with, and communicates honestly and effectively.

    A well qualified candidate must be able to:
    • Work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
    • Work well with a team and lead by example
    • Communicate effectively
    • Maintain reliable transportation
    • Stay organized, multitask, and maintain excellent documentation
    • Use Google Suite / MS Office and other technologies

    Wages and Benefits
    • Starting salary will be up to $50,000/year based on experience and financial performance
    • Company-sponsored Healthcare Plan
    • Two (2) weeks of vacation and additional floating holidays
