Fill the barrel with hot liquor let it sit until the next day, dump repeat for several days. Wine barrels are usually considered neutral by wine industry standards prior to sale, these would be the easiest to pull the wine flavors out of the wood in my opinion. Cheers.

    neutral barrels

hey everyone, i know where to find whiskey/bourbon/wine barrels but am looking for a more neutral barrel. i have beer in a barrel that i think is starting to drift, and i already brewed the beer i planned to put in it next and don't want a new barrel with spirit flavor. any recommendations, or should i brew something else to strip the spirit from a bourbon barrel and then fill it with the beer i already have?
