Pump speed adjustment

Does anybody know the name of the device that can adjust the speed of pump? It's almost like a dimmer switch for lights but for, well, for adjusting the rotation of the pump.

What brand and HP of pump motor?

I HIGHLY recommend www.factorymation.com I just purchased a NEMA 4x controller with external switches for like $470. The closest one that Baldor could do was like $900. I installed it the other day and it works like a dream.
