    You do not need to insulate a kettle vent, and it is best run with single wall SS pipe if you want to keep things simple an affordable.
    You use a " thimble " for the wall breaching for the pipe size you are working with. There is a guy on the forum named James Gimurtu if I got the spelling right who can sell you the pipe and fittings. Some people go with welded SS which more rugged, more fancy and more expensive. A horizontal termination would not be my preferred way to go, and some people run forced fan on the stack outlet depending on the total equation of the install.
