  • Can Sanitise

I am about to can for the first time.

I will be using a semi automatic seamer to start off with. The plan it to load the cans on a tray and dunk them in a sink with sanitizer to clean them.

Any suggestion on which sanitizer would be best?

Empty cans and bottles don't need much, if any, sanitation. A quick rinse with clean water is usual. If you must, then you may use a tiny amount of chlorine dioxide to keep the water sanitized. You will want to change your rinse water often in a "dunk" situation. You should also be aware of what sanitizers/strengths are compatible with your can lining. Perform thorough checks on your packaging and respond accordingly. Don't go overboard to start with. You should be just fine with a quick rinse.
