  • NEW brewhouse/cellar initial cleaning and run SOP

So we just got our brewhouse and FV's in house. Wanted to get everyones advice on initial start up cleaning, passivation, and run. We are on a 10bbl DF. My initial checklist is as follows:

    1. Initial install: hard pipe, water, power, gas, glycol to CLT
    2. External cleaning of stainless with simple green or acid foam, havnt decided.
    3. Caustic cycle (normal, heavy or with O?) on CLT, HLT, brewhouse, Unitanks, hoses
    4. Hot rinse on all
    5. Passivation cycle on all with ChemStation's 9917 (phosphoric, nitric acid blend) at triple strength.
    6. Leave all stainless open to air for at least 24 hours for passivation.
    7. Water brew to dial in volumes on MLT deadspace, pipe loss, kettle volume, FV volume

Beside that, what am I missing? Pickling new parts (Necessary? How?) Other than that, Ive done all of this before many times, just not on a brand new system. Any help or advice on your experiences would be greatly appreciated.
