  • Butterfly Valve Differences

In my search for 1.5 inch TC butterfly valves I have come across a wide range of prices ranging from $50 to $200. Generally the differences comes down to the following:
Material: 304 vs 316 stainless steel, EPDM vs silicone
    Finishing: various Ra values

For a microbrewery what sort of standard should we be looking for? I would like to find the balance between cost and quality

Don't buy the cheapest equipment. Long term cost of ownership is the right metric. Loss of product and your time are prime considerations. Do buy the valves from reputable manufacturer and reputable supplier who has replacement seals available for reasonable price. 304 is sufficient, 316 is overkill. EPDM is superior to silicone, IMO. Last time I bought in US was from Five Star, but I think they've discontinued hardware sales. I've also had good luck with Archon Industries and Glacier Tanks. I'm sure there are others that I've missed, but I don't buy much in US. If you are based in Singapore, perhaps Premier?
