            Hot Sauce

I’ve herd that capsaicin is a repellant.

              Glycol

Do you think that they may be after the glycol like marmots do?

"wrap the lines in chicken wire" or set traps.

                Rats

I'm with Laughing Dog, I use a sonic repeller in the grain room. No evidence of mice/rats/marmots....

Echo that, we get some big suckers. I'd suggest a bigger cat.

                      Call Acme

If you get a cat, you will need to then get a dog to rid your brewery of the feline. Since dogs don't budge so easily, you may then consider a large lion lion or tiger. If you are like me, and never had much success scaring away a lion, an elephant should then do the trick. All you need is a mouse to get rid of the elephant, and your back in business! Try the Acme Company. I hear they are great!

(Seriously) If that doesn't work, a sonic repeller will. I have used them in the past. Got rid of it because it freaked my dog out (this was at my house, on my gas grill hose). I used chicken wire and the sucker chewed through that, too. An exterminator once told me that rats love the sweet smell of petroleum based plastics. They love that more then the smell of malted barley. I finally got a large hose barb, and wrapped it around the hose. Probably not a lucrative idea in your situation.

A .410 shotgun should do the trick....

The best idea yet is to get rid of the rats!! Beyond that, use metal lines. Soft drawn copper would do the trick. You could also try to shield the lines with a larger diameter run of tubing, like Tygon, to protect the CO2 lines. Then, replace the Tygon if they chew through it. Best bet, get rid of the rats!

I fought a rat problem at my house once.... (long story)

Hire and exterminator. Have them bait the area with poison that kills the rat when it drinks and they will go away.

Traps kill but rats are too smart to fall for the same bait twice. You can not kill them fast enough to get ahead of them. Poison is the only answer.

Sonic devices may work too.... just not a lot of luck for me.

Well fingers crossed......I've got a sonic repeller on, our exterminator has put some more traps.........going to look into maybe spraying the lines with pepper........

Thanks a lot for the suggestions, I appreciate it
