  • Carb Stone Questions

What is the average useful life of a carb stone I.E. how often should they be replaced?
Is there a way to test a carb stone to see if it's operating properly? I have a couple the I switch between and tried sticking them in a bucket of water and blowing co2 through them. One definitely seemed to bubble/fizz more violently than the other but at the end of the day I'm still not sure what to look for.

If it's not soapy tiny ass bubbles it needs a cleaning. I bought a bunch early on because I couldn't get them clean.
Now I bought a small jewelry ultrasonic cleaner on Amazon and they work perfectly. A couple runs through that with acid and they flow like new

      Hi,

We suggest to put the carb stone in the ultrasonic cleaning machine for 60mins.
Then clean it with deionized water and blow CO2 until dry.

You can also try to soak in 1% NaOH solution or citric acid for 30mins.
Then clean it with deionized water twice and blow CO2 until dry.

      Cheers,

What temperature do you run them at in the ultrasonic cleaner?

          Hi,

          40 Celsius is enough.
